The LA City Planning Department has released its Q2 Housing Progress Report, stating that during the period of April to June 2019, 35%, or (2,586) of total units were affordable housing. This is an increase of 87% over FY18-19. However, post-JJJ, GPA/zone change projects, which were prevalent pre-JJJ, have slowed to a trickle, at only 9% of proposed entitlements. What this tells us is that voluntary, incentive-based programs work! Also, of note: of the 415 TOC projects proposed, the report states that 65% have now applied for building permits.
