Sunday, September 15, is our first regular UMYF meeting of the 2019-2020 season! Meet at 4:30 pm in the youth room for snacks, fun with friends, and a program called Through the Fire .
UMYF ends at 6:15 pm.
Youth who are interested in being in the worship choir for the "Have No Fear" Christmas concert (Sunday, December 8) led by the church's ByGrace praise band should plan to stay after youth group from 6:45 - 7:45 in the choir room to learn more!
Also, our Busch Gardens trip is Saturday, October 5.
Registration is due September 15.

Homecoming
Join us NEXT Sunday, September 22 for our Homecoming celebration! Services will be combined into ONE service at 10:30am . Sunday School classes will not meet.
Our guest speaker will be Curtis Mull, a former Holland's member who became a UMC pastor. Please join us following the service for our Homecoming luncheon and fellowship! Fried and BBQ chicken (cooked by Jeff Hayes) will be provided. Families attending are asked to bring a side dish and a dessert. Please return a completed bulletin insert today, September 15 (or stop by the office to fill one out) so we can get a fairly accurate count of our folks attending.

ByGrace: Have No Fear
Christmas Worship Event
This is an open invitation to join ByGrace in preparation for their 2019 Christmas worship event, "Have No Fear", being held on December 8, 2019. There will be a worship choir as part of the event and we need singers! Youth, college, young adults, all the way through senior adults are invited and encouraged to join. This is a wonderful opportunity to be involved in a contemporary worship event celebrating the birth of the Christ Child. You do not have to be able to read music. The only qualification is a love of worshiping the Lord through singing. Kickoff for singers and instrumentalists will be today, Sunday, September 15 at 6:45 pm in the choir room! You will receive a rehearsal schedule and practice CDs at that time. Please email Doug Pedigo at doug@hollandsumc.org if you are interested and information about rehearsals will be sent.
Music Makers
Children's Choir is back! Calling all children ages 3 years through 5th grade. Join us Wednesdays from 6:30 - 7:15pm .
During our time together we will learn new songs, do craft activities, play games and learn about Jesus! We will also prepare for performances periodically throughout the year. Higher Ground Worship
 Join us for our mid-week worship service on Thursday, September 19 , at 7:00 pm in the youth room. Pastor Jeremy Absher is preaching this week. This worship experience features a relaxed atmosphere with music led by our Higher Ground Band.
All are invited and encouraged to invite others to join us for a great time of fellowship, music, and message.

Chancel Choir
The Chancel Choir sings during the traditional services at 8:30 and 11 am.
Rehearsals are on Wednesday
evenings from 7:30-8:30 pm .
We would like to invite anyone who loves to sing [aged 14 years and up] to join us!   
 
Wednesday Night Live!
Join us Wednesday evenings at 5:30 pm for Wednesday Night Live!

This week is hosted by Hand In Hand and we will be serving broccoli chicken casserole, corn, rolls, and desserts.

Dinner will be served at 5:45 pm in the Fellowship Hall.
Young At Heart
The Young At Heart Seniors will meet THIS Thursday, September 19 at 11:30 am in the New Fellowship Hall at Holland's UMC.
This will be a covered dish luncheon and everyone is asked to bring a covered dish to share . We will have special entertainment by Donna West and at this time we
will finalize our Holiday outing.
Holland's United Methodist Men's 2019 Fall Retreat
Join us for our Holland's UMM 2019 Fall Retreat at Fort Caswell Coastal Retreat and Conference Center at Oak Island, NC!
Leaving on Friday, October 4 and coming back Sunday, October 6 . The program this year is "Not A Fan" by Kyle Idleman, given by Reverend Rich Vaughan. Cost is $125/person and includes lodging as well as meals. Registration forms can be found in the narthex or the church office. Please give the completed form to either Nelson Haden or to Katie Crocker in the church office.

UMM Golf Tournament
Holland's United Methodist Men's group invites you to participate in their annual golf tournament this Saturday, October 19th at 1pm at Eagle Ridge Golf Club in Raleigh.
All ages and skill levels are welcome.
The goals are to have fun and to raise money for our missions supported through the Men's group at Holland's UMC. Registration forms are located in the narthex.

Men's Bible Study
Men's Bible Study meets on Monday mornings at 7am in Rev. Rich's office.
We will be studying the book "7 Men" by Eric Mexaxas. Rev. Rich leads this study.

Big Thank You to our
Blood Drive Heroes!
We met our goal for blood collection on August 26, thanks to the many donors who were able to give.
Those 41 units collected have the
potential to help 123 lives!
Thank you to everyone who donated to this life saving cause and to the volunteers who helped to make this event a success. The United Methodist Men’s group were a huge help getting the donors registered and serving refreshments. A special thanks to Paul Szalanski, Steve Middleton, George Morris, Ron Hunt, Phil Langdon, and Nelson Hayden.

Volunteer Opportunities
Our children's Sunday School classes are resuming after a relaxing summer session. 
We need help leading our small groups. You can choose from preschool, K-1st, 2nd-3rd, or 4th-5th grades. We also have openings for Children's Church leaders. Visit  www.hollandskids.org  and click on "Volunteers" to sign up to help.

Greeters Needed!
Friendly folks with happy smiles are needed to serve as greeters after each service! This involves only ten minutes of your time just standing by our welcome table to give our information to visitors and to wish everyone a blessed week as they leave the church. SAMARITAN'S PANTRY
Samaritan's Pantry is a church-wide ministry to help those in need. Each month, we suggest an item of the month, or you can bring an item you have on hand. A donation basket is located in the hallway near the church office.
