Alaska Native LGBTQ Project - Sexual Health Survey NOW OPEN!

Starting in 2015, the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC) HIV/STD Prevention Program launched the Alaska Native Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender or Queer (LGBTQ) Initiative as part of its iknowmine.org outreach and education efforts. In 2017, we launched a sexual health survey to inform the initiative. This was round 1! Last year, we launched round 2 of the survey. We are happy to announce that we have launched Round 3 of the Alaska Native LGBTQ survey. In order to take the survey participants must be ages 16 and older and have a valid mailing address in Alaska. Participants can choose to receive a Spawn Safely t-shirt as a thank you for taking the survey. Take the survey now. Visit the IKM website to learn more about the AN LGBTQ Project. Download flyer.

Call for Actors - Documentary Highlighting Alaska Native/American Indian Individuals
People often stigmatize things they don't understand. This includes sexual orientation and gender identity. In an effort to create new understandings of sexual orientation and gender identity in American Indian and Alaska Native people, the
Northwest Portland Area Indian Health Board (NPAIHB) is creating a short film highlighting these experiences to show the beauty and diversity of this community.
Are you Alaska Native or American Indian? Do you identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer or two-spirit (LGBTQ2+)? Are you willing to share your story? Please contact Morgan Thomas at

SCF Learning Circle: LGBTQ2 Support Group
 Southcentral Foundation is offering a LGBTQ2 (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Two Spirit) learning circle. Folks will be offered a space to discuss challenges with others who have similar experiences such as stigma, discrimination, and other topics that impact the LGBTQ2 community. Must be ages 18 and older. Walk-in participation is welcomed. For more info contact the

"Knowing Who You Are" Workshops: Feb 2019
Passionate about youth in Alaska? Consider attending the Knowing Who You Are (KWYA) training. The workshop aims to provide a framework for participants to identify and explore racial and ethnic identity and how these things impact personal and professional interactions.
KWYA is designed to positively impact well-being outcomes for youth by providing participants with resources and tools to engage and support youth!
