Fourteenth Sunday after Pentecost

Weekly Chimes

Hello Old Donation!

We're back! Last Sunday we welcomed everyone home from summer vacations, our choir back to their place in the loft, our students and teachers back to Formation Hour (Sunday School) between 9:30-10:15, and blessed dozens of backpacks for all those teaching and studying at school this year. The place was bustling and full of life! Unfortunately, the threat of bad weather caused us to postpone our Celebration of Ministry Fair-but not to worry. We WILL reschedule!

Tonight, we will not have a Wednesday night program. But, I do want to continue to remind you of our permanent time change for all future Wednesday programs and Commission meetings. We will begin at 6:00 with dinner, followed by program (or meetings) from 6:30-7:30. There will be no Holy Eucharist on Wednesday nights. This is a change for those of you who are used to coming at 7:00 for the start of the program, so please mark your calendars accordingly! Next Wednesday we will be having a great and timely discussion about BISHOPS-why do we have them? What do they do? Why should we care who is elected as our new Bishop? This class will happen only three short days before a delegation of your peers and clergy travel to Dinwiddie, VA to elect our next Bishop. Come with questions, wisdom to impart to your electing delegates, or just a readiness to learn.

The rest of this week is business as usual. On Sunday I'll be preaching at 8:00, 10:30, and 5:00. Bob will be preaching in the Gathering. Formation Hour will continue for all ages from 9:30-10:15, and for adults we will continue to explore the foundations of Paul: his life, theology, and context.

Looking forward to seeing you all!
