East High School In The News
This week East High School Alumni (Class of 2011), David Aguayo, was featured in Madison 365's Sí Se Puede 2020: The 39 Most Influential Latinos in Wisconsin. David is the Director of Latino Outreach in Wisconsin for the Biden for President campaign, leading the campaign’s efforts to secure a critical voting block in a crucial battleground state. A 2015 graduate of UW-Madison, he is also Latino Outreach Director for the Democratic Party of Wisconsin. He interned with US Representative Mark Pocan and also previously served as executive assistant in the state’s Department of Workforce Development.

East High School student Zavier Hauser and his mom were featured in a Capital Times article about how challenging virtual learning can be for students and parents of students with disabilities. Zavier's mom, Anna, wrote in an email that the “beginning of the year is off to a really good start for us. I’m seeing a lot more inclusivity and organization to make sure he is included,” she wrote.

Noah Ehresman, an East High 9th grade ICT Pathway student, was a Tynker Summer Code Jam Winner. In his interview with Tynker, Noah said, I love to create things that people can enjoy. So coding is a big part of creating things that people can enjoy." One of Noah’s favorite hobbies is solving puzzles — in fact, it’s part of what makes math his favorite subject in school because in a certain way math is just solving puzzles.
