Gala & Auction: The School's Largest Fundraising Event
Last year, the school hosted one of the region’s first virtual Gala & Auction events, resulting in a budget-busting $147,000 for student-centered learning, as well as pioneering a sense of community togetherness during stay-at-home orders. While we had hoped to be in a place in which our entire community could gather in person, alas we are prudently making plans for a virtual program, plus new experiences to celebrate student success and elevate community connections. We will once again gather with a virtual program for this year's 2021 event.

  9. Do business with last year's auction donors and sponsors as we aim to build up local businesses. Don't hesitate to ask for a business referral within our community.
  10. Does your student have a special talent (voice, instrumental, performance poetry, inspired reading, etc.) to share in our virtual gala program? Encourage your student to make a submission in our upcoming student contest.

Inspirational Student Voices
The Gala & Auction's virtual program will feature our community's talents as we celebrate and are uplifted by our student's voices and talents. Students are encouraged to submit a video of an original piece of poetry, an inspirational reading, a musical performance, a science experiment, a dance routine, etc., to uplift the entertainment portion of our evening. Sibling performances are encouraged. We'd even welcome family, alumni, and faculty/staff submissions! Based on the number of submissions received, a committee will select diverse pieces to share on the night of the gala.

Guidelines for submitting videos:
  • HORIZONTAL/LANDSCAPE VIDEO.
  • Medium Direction from Frame (example) around 3ft.
  • Consider interesting backdrop, lighting, or creating an appearance of a nighttime performance.
  • Let someone else take the video or use a tripod (it will be more still).
  • Recommended 2-3 minute length of time.
  • Upload to Google Drive folder by March 30, 2021, at 9:00 p.m.
  • DO NOT EMAIL YOUR VIDEO as it will not retain a high-resolution quality.
  • It might be easiest to have the Google Drive app on your phone/device. Click the "+" sign to easily upload your video from your phone's gallery.

Consider inspiration from Youth Poet Laureate Amanda Gorman and share your talents fully.
