Graduate Feedback

I have at least two friends and know of many others, who "waited" to have children as they were concerned about leaving in the midst of their careers to have children. The fertility field acted as if they were a "given" to help you when older. Many spent thousands to get pregnant and then had multiples and/or were not able to get pregnant.
I recall in a panel of senior woman managers, when one was asked about any regrets she had she said "not having children". She was an older woman and I believe she waited and then was not able to have them. The sorrow on her face is still before me. I thank God I was able to have my two boys at 38 and 40 years but I have always coached women not to manage their family planning too closely with career planning. One ends at 60-65 and the other is a blessing forever.

Thank You for your great comments. Fertility can indeed be a problem as women age.
However, for me, the fact that women get to choose to have children or not is
what we fought for in the 60's and I am glad for it!
Not MY Problem!
In the last few months I have been keeping tabs on how often other people have asked me or tried to push their problems in my lap.
From waiters to clients I have been inundated with people who want me to take care of their problem for them.
I believe people are so overwhelmed with their lives and jobs
that this is becoming more of an issue.
I usually put their problems back squarely on their shoulders and
either listen to their requests or demands and/or confront them
with their lack of responsibility in the matter.
If asked, I will make recommendations for where and how they can
solve their own problem. But only if asked.
But listen closely, I never and I mean never make their problem
my problem! If you do that you will be chasing your tail and you will own it all; them and their problem.
They are most probably on a roller coaster in their lives and out of
control and want you or me to get on the roller coaster with them.
DO NOT GET ON THE ROLLER COASTER WITH THEM!!
Stand on the ground and wave and let them know you will be
happy to support them getting off the roller coaster but DO
NOT GET ON WITH THEM!!
For example, I went to a nail salon. They did a lousy job and I pointed out to them why I felt less then satisfied. They then told me how difficult my nails were because they are not flat. I suggested
that that was why I was coming to them as they were supposed
to be the nail experts and if they prefer I could go to one of the
other nail salons in a 2 mile radius of their shop. Since I pay
them to do my nails their shape are not my problem,even though they
are my nails. How many of you would then feel guilty for having
curvy and not flat nails?
Now let's look at a work example. Very often client companies
will choose to pay us in 60-90 days which invariably makes a
$35,000 workshop go up to $40,000- $50,000. See I don't care
if you pay me in 60-90 days because we have no late fees, we
have higher prices for 60-90 day payables. I feel it is
your internal problem to deal with my payment not mine. I
will just adjust your bill to reflect your system's limitations!
See, not my problem.
Very often folks will tell me they cannot
do anything outside the system they have and try to make
that system my problem. But it is not my problem and lately we
have been refusing work with companies whose systems try to
make their design my problem! There's actually one system that
charges the supplier (me) for billing your company to do work
you have ordered from us. One of your companies
has actually made billing by your suppliers a profit center
for your company! Again not my problem!
If you think about it I am sure you can recall thousands of
examples; personally and professionally in which folks have
made their problems your problems. And I would bet the results
are always bad.
Here's a fail safe way to deal with this; When they ask you
or try to dump something on you ask yourself the question, "Who's
problem is this?"
I bet lots will come off your responsibility list if you just ask
that question before you take on something that is not your
problem.
By the way, if you have kids and you make their problems yours
they will never learn how to deal with their own problems.

Here are the 3 options graduates can use to attend WMF® again:
Attending Advanced Women Moving Forward®
The 2 day workshop will have you focus on:
Your purpose in life and how to live a more purposeful life.
Completing your old Declarations of Self
Creating new Declarations of Self
Declarations of Self Exercise
Reviewing
In this option you are actually a full participant. You do a pre-call and pre-work and participate as a full participant!
You will need to be present for all 3 days and do all the workshop exercises.
The cost is 50% of the total cost of the workshop. So here in the US reviewing currently costs $1875
Observing
In this option you sit at the Observer Table and do the exercises from that vantage point. You can "observe" where you are now and where you need to be next. You participate only silently from the back of the room.
Observing affords you the flexibility to come and go as you please (except during the completion exercise).
You do not participate fully and only speak to the room if asked to by Susan
The cost to Observe is $250 in the US and $450 in other countries.
In every workshop we do we have limited spaces for Reviewers and for Observers.

For example; Just because Power has been used badly on you does not mean power is inherently bad.
It also does not follow that since the use of power on you wan done badly that when you use power
you are bad!!

For those of you who want to attend The Women's
Leadership Retreat® for the first time in 2016 there is
now a prerequisite; Advanced Women Moving Forward®
We use to be able to do a make-up day for The Retreat®
to cover all of the previous year's concepts.
This is not possible any longer. With 60+ pages of
concepts to learn before the first day of The Retreat®
we must have another way to get potential attendees
up to the current year's concepts.
The 2 day format will cover:
1. The participant will start to identify or identify
their purpose in life.
2. The participant will know the properties of purpose
3. The participant will know how this supports their
work and how to maximize their work contribution
using their purpose
4. The participant will know and know how to use
intention to attain higher levels of productivity.
5. The participant will be able to bring in to being
bigger results using their knowledge of Creation,
Intention and Purpose.

1. Any woman who is a graduate of

improve her productivity and lead a more purposeful life.

OBSERVING
Observing is a WMF® graduate program that includes
attending the workshop and looking at how far
you have come since taking the workshop. It also helps
you to keep the learnings you got as impactful as they were
when you took
the workshop.
The side benefit of Observing is supporting the women
attending by modeling what it is to complete the workshop.
If you would like to Observe any of the community based
workshops in 2011 all you need to do is contact us to make
a reservation and pay the $250 fee. Seats in each
workshop are limited and are given on a first come
first serve basis.
Four Graduates in Europe Observed the Frankfurt workshop
last year.
You do not have to be at all three days of the workshop.
You can be at one day or several or you can come for an afternoon.
The schedule is up to you when you Observe.
Some Graduates bring their workshop buddies with them
to Observe and some bring their old notebooks!
