Tukwila's Annual Curbside Clean Up Day takes place on Saturday, August 1

The Annual Clean Up Day is designed to help Tukwila residents dispose of bulky household items. Residents must be a Waste Management customer to participate.  Regular curbside collection of garbage and recycling will still take place on Friday, July 31.

Please place all your materials curbside by 7:00 a.m. on August 1. All broken household items must be less than 3 ft. by 3 ft. and weigh less than 65 lbs.

Bulky items such as appliances, furniture and other large items will only be accepted if collection has been scheduled by July 29. Please call Waste Management at 1-855-885-9452 to schedule collection of these items.

View the event flyer for details about items that will be accepted and those that won't be picked up.

The City of Tukwila's Neighborhood Traffic Calming Program (NTCP) is pleased to announce the planned conversion of 53rd Avenue South to one-way operations between 52nd Avenue South and South 137th Street.

This future improvement will enhance the safety and circulation within the Foster field/North Hill neighborhood, located west of Interurban Avenue and east of I-5. The conversion will provide a complete pedestrian network by
creating a shoulder pathway along 53rd Avenue South and on South 137th Street between 52nd Avenue South and 53rd Avenue South (see figure above).

The project also addresses sight distance issues at the 52nd Place South/52nd Avenue South intersection by changing the one-way flow from northbound to southbound, and adding a speed cushion with pedestrian pathway along the east side of 52nd Place South.

This project is scheduled for completion by the end of 2020. An additional notification will be sent two weeks prior to the scheduled start date.

For questions or comments regarding this project, please
contact Traffic Engineering Project Manager Scott Bates
at 206-431-2193, or Scott.Bates@TukwilaWA.gov.
