Summer Lunch Program Serves up the Food… and FUN!
As the Frisco and Frisco ISD community continues to grow, so must Frisco Family Services. What started as a program to provide local school-aged kids with lunches and weekend meals during summer break has turned into something much more—
a fun and community-focused experience for participants and their families.
|
|
While school is out, Frisco Family Services partners with community supporters and volunteers to provide food and activities each day at five different sites. Activities range from science experiments to canvas painting to petting zoos, all to encourage socialization among the kids and their families. This year’s program began on June 3, and 9 weeks and
22,034 lunches and weekend meals
later, Frisco Family Services held their annual Grand Finale event, sponsored by Frito-Lay - PepsiCo, to celebrate a hunger-free summer! The fun and sense of community were amplified as around 300 kids and their families came out and had a blast as they danced around the bubble-making bus, got their face and nails painted, programmed robots, made slime and tie-dye shirts, played kickball, and enjoyed snow cones, and free books. A raffle even provided a handful of kids with a brand new bike and rocking horses!

Frisco Family Services' Back2School Fun Fair ensures students in our community are able to start the school year off with success!

August 5th was a special day where nearly 250 eligible Frisco ISD students (grades K-12) received a new backpack, required school supplies, new T-shirts, socks, underwear and tennis shoes thanks to Amica Insurance, new jackets thanks to Macy's, vision screenings by Esslior Of America, haircuts, and much more thanks to individuals that sponsored all our students.

Because of you, students in our community were able to start the school year with all the essentials and confidence needed!
|
|
Even parents benefited with numerous resources and helpful vendors who participated this year.
|
|
This past fiscal year,
541,525 meals
were provided to our neighbors in crisis through Frisco’s only community Food Pantry.
|
|

Please bring donations directly to Frisco Family Services Food Pantry:
Mon., Tues., Thurs., Fri. from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Wed. from 9-6 p.m. Frisco Resale will accept Food Pantry donations during regular store hours on Saturdays.
