January 8, 2020 - Anchored in His Love
Faith - St. John of the Cross & St. Teresa of Avila
Happy 2020, St. Isidore School Families!

Welcome back!
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and that you had a chance to spend quality time with family and friends. The extended break allows for fun and relaxation, something we were all ready for. Heading into a new year and a new decade provides us with a fresh start and a renewed sense of optimism. I am truly excited to see where 2020 takes us as a school and as a community, and I am grateful for the love and support you continue to give. The best is yet to come.

“Faith, it does not make things easy. It makes them possible.” – Luke 1:37
I find it fitting that the Gospel Value for January is FAITH . Faith, at its core, is trusting in God and His plan for us, knowing that where we are at this moment is exactly where we are supposed to be. It inspires hope and gives us confidence to move forward in a new direction, towards future ambitions.

SIS Family Highlight
Welcome Huerta Family! 1st grader Sufia Huerta joined first grade (Devine) on Monday! We are so excited to welcome them to the SIS Family! If you see them on campus, please take a moment to introduce yourself.

The Huerta family are big fans of Pokeman, traveling the globe together, and experiencing new things. Both Sufi and Amelia love to bake and cook with their mom, and work on cars and play soccer with their dad. Both Michael and Razia grew up in the East Bay and they knew when they got married, that they wanted to raise their children here. Razia attended public school, Michael is a De La Salle alumni.
Congratulations on becoming a grandma Mrs. Reid! Mrs. Karen Reid's son and daughter in-law welcomed a baby girl to the world on Monday. Little Henley Karen Reid weighed 7lbs, 5oz. Everyone is doing great and grandma can't wait to hold her new granddaughter.
TK Information
TK Parents please mark your calendar , the annual TK flip-flop will take place on Tuesday, January 21st . The current AM class will flip to the PM time slot and the current PM class will flip to the AM time slot . This change allows students the opportunity to experience Mass, helps the child adjust to a full day of school and makes it equitable to all parents.

If your child is a current TK student, you DO NOT need to fill out an online application or schedule a testing time for next school year, 2020-2021. Please contact the office if you do not plan on attending Kindergarten at SIS.

Please help us spread the word about our upcoming TK/Kindergarten meeting on Friday, January 10th at 10am. Word of mouth is truly our best form of marketing.

Hospitality team shout out! Thank you so much to our awesome Hospitality team - Alida Beilke, Kristi Brown, AnneMarie Carpenter and Brooke Corradini for going above and beyond to make our staff Christmas party so special. We all had a blast!
Challenge Success Tip of the Week
Review worst case steps with our child: Walk through what to do if your kid is being bullied online. First, step away. Ignoring a bully can be very effective. If the bullying continues, take screenshots or print out evidence. Then block the person. If it gets worse, report the behavior to a trusted adult. Talk about who those people are and make sure your kid has their contact information.
Girl Scout Information
Learn about Girl Scouts! Interested in learning more about Girl Scouts at St Isidore and how you can get your daughter involved.
