Now Streaming! ArtWorks & NMMA Student Art Exhibition

Artwork by student Luis Rascon from Katie Sward's first grade class at El Camino Real Academy.

As you know, ArtWorks and the New Mexico Museum of Art collaborate on an exhibition of student artwork hosted annually in May at the Museum. This year, we've converted the exhbition to a digital format to celebrate our student artists virtually! We hope you enjoy revisiting the special work created in the program this past year as much as we did.

Take a look, and please share far and wide! We thank you for your continued support of the ArtWorks program. While we miss seeing you all, we're looking forward to the day when we can be together again safely.

math-teacher-chalkboard.jpg

Due to the unusual ending of the school year, Partners is extending the deadline for final reports for this year's Teacher Grants, as well as the deadline for Teacher Grant applications for next year. The new deadline is September 11. We will be sending emails with more details to all teachers who received a grant this year.

NEW: Engage4Ten Program

Artwork by student Betsy Bolton from Katie Norton's second grade class at Acequia Madre Elementary School.

This June, five ArtWorks Teaching Artists - Wendy Chapin, Amy Compton, Gregory Gutin, Lucy Ranney, and Oliver Prezant - will collaborate with Santa Fe Public School teachers to share inspiring visual art, dance, and music lessons with SFPS students.

At no cost to students, Engage4Ten will offer SFPS students online experiences that foster creativity and critical thinking in fun and highly engaging activities. These activities will be designed by SFPS classroom teachers in partnership with Art and Music community partners and District Computer Science experts, including ArtWorks Teaching Artists.

The Engage4Ten program will run from June 1 to 12, 2020. The opportunity is an optional extension of the school year that several schools selected to participate in so as to increase creative curricula for students.

ArtWorks is glad to be collaborating with the District on this new opportunity for students!
