It is with a sad heart that I write to inform you that the Grand Teton Council Executive Board has voted to suspend all resident camp and Cub Scout day camp operations for 2020.

The Health and safety of our camp participants and staff is our primary concern and after long discussions and thorough examination of the State, CDC, and BSA guidelines connected with the Covid-19 pandemic it became obvious that we would not be able to guarantee safe operations under the conditions.

We formed a task force consisting of members of the Council's Risk Management, Health and Safety, Camp Programs, and Training Committees. They gathered multiple times during the month of May to create a formal recommendation to present to the Council Executive Board.  The resulting vast majority vote was to suspend all resident camp and Cub Scout day camp operations. We will still be offering our Trail to Eagle program on a day-camp basis at Krupp Scout Hollow and our whitewater high adventure programs at the Howard H. Dougherty Salmon River High Adventure Base.

All Scouting units that have reservations for this summer have the option to have the funds rolled over to next year's camps, receive a full refund of their deposits and any fees already paid, or donate the funds to the Council.

We know this is a great disappointment to your Scouts and leaders, but we are confident that we can still find ways to keep the spirit of Scouting alive and help your youth during these challenging times.
