Vocation Ministry Update

The Spring of 2018 was busy for Vocation Ministry with 11 workshops in 7 dioceses! We served: Diocese of Beaumont, Texas Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, Texas Diocese of Stockton, California Diocese of San Diego, California Diocese of Manchester, New Hampshire Archdiocese of Omaha, Nebraska Diocese of Grand Island, Nebraska Records were broken, too, with the Diocese of Manchester, NH had 72% of their parishes represented. They also had the most in attendance this spring with 220 parishioners. Then, the Diocese of Stockton had 78% of their parishes represented. With only 35 parishes, 120 parishioners showing up was amazing! I will let you know where Vocation Ministry will be offering workshops in the fall very soon!

Facebook Groups Last summer, Vocation Ministry launched The Veil and The Collar , which exploded with men and women seeking an online place to discern with support from sisters, priests, and other discerners. Many men and women are sharing their stories of joyful admittance into orders or ordination and some of their need to find a new order. In each instance, these men and women are being encouraged to continue their journey! The Collar now has 150 members , and the Veil has 250 members . If you know a man discerning the priesthood or consecrated life or a woman discerning religious life, please let them know about these groups!

Last month I sent a special email announcing that the new and improved www.VocationMinistry.com is now LIVE! Visit the Vocation Shop for great gifts and items like Vocation Backpacks for a Boy or Girl and Children's Mass Kit to sign out at your family-heavy Masses! The Vocation Backpack would make great gifts for any child or grandchild! Many of you did not have the opportunity to buy my NEW Hundredfold Resource Book either, and now you can buy that and copies of Hundredfold at the shop! Watch a workshop for priests or parishioners from the comfort of your parish hall or your couch! You get a set of books with each purchase of a workshop, too.

Priesthood Sunday- CHANGE OF DATE

Considerable prayer and discernment went into this decision by Serra Leadership, but the principal reason for the change of date is to allow more time between the celebration of Priesthood Sunday and National Vocation Awareness Week, which is a welcome change!
