The 2020 [Virtual] Loisaida Festival is coming!

Not even the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) will deter Loisaida Inc. from bringing joy, music, performance, and arts to our beloved community!  Honoring our over 30-year tradition, this year we will bring our cultural festival to the virtual realm, rea ching thousands of participants in the comfort and safety of their homes.

It is no secret that the COVID-19 pandemic has disproportionately impacted communities of color, ravaging our health, livelihoods, economic stability, and social-emotional well-being. For these and many other reasons, we stand by our belief that "Arts & Culture = Social Justice" and, therefore, the show must go on!

Our [ Virtual] Loisaida Festival's theme " Cuenta Con Nosotros - Count on Uswill highlight the unwavering dedication of our Latinx essential workers, who have bravely fought in the frontlines against the ongoing health crisis, as depicted in this year's beautiful commemorative artwork by local artist Maria Dominguez

I want to take this moment to thank all of you working, home-schooling, surviving and still creating through this very difficult time.

We understand that it is hard to think of celebrating anything these days as many of us have lost family members, friends and loved ones, jobs, businesses and feel stressed not knowing what will become of the future.

Nonetheless, at  Loisaida Inc.  Center it is our mission to  ALWAYS CELEBRATE L.E.S. and honor the spirit of resiliency embedded in our neighborhood. Characterized by the many people that make us who we are and that make this neighborhood a truly unique New York City experience.  We will bring back our emotional and physical strength, let us not lose hope mi Gente!

Spread the word!
