Guest House Coming to Historic Cottleville

The Old Town Historic District Commission approved plans  for a guest house at  5366 Main Street, which will be rented through Airbnb.  Originally, 5366 Main Street had a historic log cabin which was built in the early 1800's and was home to Bross Brothers Blacksmith Shop.  During demolition, the logs were safely removed, numbered and stored so they could reconstruct  the log cabin using most of the original logs.  Plans include placing them on a new foundation, adding a lover level, featuring 3 bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen on the back of the structure.  The front and side plans include a a wraparound porch that will shield the historic logs from the weather.  A stone fireplace is planned and will be added to the south elevation.  We are looking forward to the addition of Bross Brothers Airbnb!

Another Successful CPD National Night Out!

Thank you again to all of the City of Cottleville Officers, Firemen, Paramedics and St. Charles County Ambulance District for making National Night Out so successful!

In addition, the CPD would like to thank all the subdivisions and citizens that participated in NNO this year. The partnership that this community continues to exhibit shows that it is a great place to live. It is so very much appreciated by the officers who serve here.
New Building Coming to

Perhaps you've noticed some demolition happening on Highway N at Motherhead Road?  That is because Unique Heating and Cooling plans to relocate their office space into a new building at 5208 Highway N.  This new building will offer additional office or retail space and will be similar to the building pictured here.  This is adjacent to St. Joseph Church and will be a beautiful feature as you enter the old town historic Cottleville area at the intersection of Highway N and Motherhead Road.  Welcome to Cottleville Unique Heating and Cooling!

Road & Park Improvements

Fifth, Main & Chestnut Streets
After completion of design and right of way work, improvements to Fifth Street in the historic old town Cottleville area are currently underway.  Also the design and right of way work is now complete for similar improvements to the Chestnut and Main Street area in historic old town Cottleville. Both of these improvements are planned to include curbs, sidewalks, parking, upgraded street signage and street lighting that would resemble our recent improvements on Main Street or along Highway N.  Weather permitting Fifth Street construction should tentatively be complete this year. The improvements to the Chestnut and Main Street areas should begin this year. For many years, the Cottleville Community Improvement District has discussed much needed improvements for streets within Cottleville's historic district. The intersection at Highway N and Fifth Street is congested and too often, accidents occur at this location. Future plans include additional street improvements in the old town historic area of Cottleville as funds can be allocated. These projects are funded by the Cottleville Community Improvement District.

Mid Rivers Mall Drive at Cottleville Parkway
Construction will soon begin at Mid Rivers Mall Drive near Cottleville Parkway, and beyond. Improvements will include additional turn lanes, improved crosswalks, bridge widening and relocating the pedestrian sidewalk/pathway back off the road/shoulder, similar to what is in front of Stygar-Hutchens funeral home. Construction should begin in 2018 and continue through spring or summer of 2019, weather permitting. This project is funded by the City of St. Peters, East West Gateway, and St. Charles County Road Board.

Gutermuth Road & Over Pass
St. Charles County  Highway Department  is still planing to begin constructing an overpass in 2019 on Page/364 at Gutermuth  with a tentative completion date in 2020 .  Funding is being sought to  realign/widen Gutermuth Road  to Motherhead Road.

Dog Park Improvements Underway
Due to its popularity, plans are underway to expand the Dog Park by extending the fenced area and adding additional resting/seating areas. A contractor has been selected and construction is planned to be completed in 2018.

Harmony Lake Area in Legacy Park
A connector trail is planned to be constructed at Harmony Lake Parkway and Centre Lake Drive making the existing Podhorn Memorial Trail complete.  A contractor has been selected   and construction should begin in 2018.

Ella's Lemonade Stand is doing their last fundraiser at the St. Charles Freddy's Locations on 9/12 from 3pm-10pm.  All of the St. Charles County Freddy's, including Cottleville, are donating proceeds to this cause honoring Missouri Fallen Military Heroes.

Remember:  The Drain is Just for Rain

null
Did you see something going down the storm sewer? The City's storm sewer collection system is designed to catch rain water only and direct it downstream to open ponds, lakes and streams. Without the presence of rain, water flowing from stormwater outfalls may be an indicator of an "Illicit Discharge".   Some key things to look for are soap suds or foam, discolored water, odors, chemicals, oily sheen, stained water or other unnatural debris around storm sewer structures or in ponds or waterways.
There are two ways to report illegal dumping in storm drains:
1. Call the City Administrator: 636-498-6565
2. Email:  rich.francis@cityofcottleville.com
