NATIONAL ECW VISION STATEMENT
As the eyes, ears, hands, and heart of Christ in the world,
we will persist in the work of healing, justice, and peace.
Steady as she goes. Over the past few months the National Board of Episcopal Church Women has worked quietly and steadfastly to finalize details of some key aspects of Triennial Meeting 2018. Though the calendars of all groups associated with General Convention remain in flux, we want to draw your attention to the following:

1. Nominations & Elections. Episcopal Church Women affirm and believe that all women should have opportunity for involvement and leadership in the organization. To that end, a timeline for nominations and elections to the national board has been set and a Nominating Committee has been seated. You needn't wait to be tapped by a committee member, however. Individuals are invited to self-nominate. The deadline is January 12th. Nominations criteria and job descriptions, among other things, are posted here.

2. Certification & Registration. While the registration process, which happens via diocesan offices, isn't ready to fully begin, the National ECW does want to start its certification process. The deadline for certification is February 1st. Get all the details here.

3. Distinguished Woman Award. Every diocese is encouraged to select one woman for this honor. This should be someone whose Christian principles are lived out in both her secular and sacred communities. Distinguished Women will be recognized at Triennial Meeting. The deadline is February 1st. Details, including the necessary form, can be found here.

4. Unified Gift & Community Connection Gift . By tradition, these gifts are the ECW's way of speaking to our social justice themes, giving back to the host city/diocese of General Convention, and educating delegates about programs that could be replicated in their own communities. The gifts will be presented at Triennial Meeting. Please be generous in your giving as individuals and as groups. Information about these ministries and how to make a donation is located here.
Evita Krislock, Province VIII ECW Representative and Workshop Coordinator for the 49th Triennial Meeting, briefly explores some of the goals of the national board and why she gives thanks for our life together as women of the Church.

"An objective of our prayer is to change the way we perceive the world in order to change the way we relate to the world."  - Pope Francis and Bartholomew I, Archbishop of Constantinople and Ecumenical Patriarch

How do we change our perceptions and in turn change the way we relate to the world?

By taking one step forward toward opening the possibilities that just perhaps, alone we do not have all the answers or even some of them. Rather, collectively we come to new understandings, a humbling of our egos and the opening to solutions.

At our 49th Triennial Meeting we will strive to bring together the women of the church in an inclusive manner that will integrate all educational opportunities through our speakers, workshops, worship, and participation with the rest of General Convention. We recognize that everything is connected.

I am looking forward to experiencing our collective wisdom and growth at Triennial Meeting in Austin 2018, where we will "GO! Share the Word:  Everyday,  C omunicamos, Every W here."
The Rev. Cathy Tyndall Boyd adjusts the Wrist Guards of Strength, part of the Wonder Woman accessories given to her on November 11th during her installation as rector of St. Martin's Episcopal Church in Williamsburg, VA. The presentation by St. Martin's staff also included, "...this tiara as a sign of your super powers." Cathy, who'll serve as Chaplain of Triennial Meeting 2018, does in fact have some powerful things to share with all of us before and during the 49th Triennial Meeting.
eCommunique as well as our Facebook and Twitter pages are used to share information between issues of "The Communique" magazine. Are you connected?
