Mail-In Voting Coming To Rhode Island

Covid-19 has changed our lives, and it will impact voting in
Rhode Island this year. The Rhode Island Presidential Primary is scheduled for Tuesday June 2. Elections are labor intensive events and many of the election day staff and poll volunteers are committed citizens over 60 years of age, and they are the most vulnerable in this pandemic. Because of this, our Presidential Primary will be largely conducted via mail.

Our Secretary of State, Nellie Gorbea and her staff have prepared a three-step program for Rhode Island's mail ballot system. Click the button below to hear her plan on 2020 mail ballots for the June 2 nd  Rhode Island Presidential Primary.
Is "Your" Home Inspector Licensed?
Home Inspector Licensing Deadline Extended to July 1st

Is “your” home inspector licensed?   If you refer a home inspector or provide a list of multiple inspectors to consumers, make sure that the inspector is licensed in Rhode Island.  To check a license, use this link and select “home inspector” or “home inspector associate” from the drop-down menu.    www.crb.ri.gov/search.php

As of July 1, 2020, anyone who conducts a home inspection for a home or other residential property located in Rhode Island must be licensed as a home inspector or associate home inspector.  This includes home inspectors who are already licensed in other states like Massachusetts or Connecticut.  The original deadline of April 1st and the extended deadline of May 1st have been extended.
Additional COVID-19 Relief Pending

The Senate on April 21st passed a nearly  $500 billion coronavirus relief bill  that would replenish a small business rescue program and provide new funds for hospitals and a virus testing program. The bill next goes to the House, which could vote on Thursday (tomorrow).
