  • featured resources for extending learning beyond AusPREP Online

If you haven't registered yet to access the lessons, there is still time! Registration is open throughout the summer . Students can register any time. For parents/guardians completing the registration, please register each student individually.
If you have registered, but haven't received your email confirmation, please hold tight for us! We are working to process registration requests as quickly as possible.

We are launching the first set lessons with Problem Solving I this week. Each week, the lessons will be presented as a 5-day module, but the lessons are self-paced. We are launching one module a week, but all lessons will be available for the entire summer once they are released. So, feel free to work on them anytime.
How to access AusPREP Online

We are using an online learning platform, Canvas, to host the AusPREP Online lesson modules. Some students may be familiar with this platform (Blend) from their home school districts.

Once registered, you will receive an email with instructions for creating a password for Canvas.

To return to the AusPREP Online course after your password has been created. You will use this portal, and select the login for AusPREP.
That direct link to login is:

For families/students who filled out the initial registration form for multiple students with the same email address, it will be best to create separate accounts for each student to track progress through the course material.

Please reach out to us if you have any issues logging on or accessing materials. We are here to help! Reach out to us at ausprep@htu.edu
Lesson Module 1 - Problem Solving I
Problem Solving I
  • The week starts off with an equation which will be matched to a word problem.
  • On Day 2, students will then take those same equations and inequalities and solve them.
  • For Day 3, students have a different set of task cards and they will read the word problem and match it to the correct equation or inequality.
  • On Day 4, students will take the answers from the previous day and use it to check their work and then solve equations and inequalities, but this time with variables on both sides.
  • The last two activities for Day 5 work on combining like terms.

You may also notice a Geography module on the AusPREP Online course. One of the exciting aspects of AusPREP Online is the flexibility to bring you content outside of the traditional AusPREP scope. We are launching two of the five days of lessons from this module to supplement the traditional AusPREP material. Please explore those lessons as you like, and more information about that content and the instructor will be coming soon!

Meet the Instructor
Kalandra Williams has been teaching middle school students math for 13 years. She is currently a math teacher at Elgin Middle School and this is her second summer with AusPREP.

Ms. Williams is passionate about helping students develop a growth mindset towards math. She understands the challenge because she overcame it herself in 5th grade. Through her choice to teach herself math at a very young age, she developed the skills, patience, and the thorough explanation of teaching her peers and now the students who enter into her classroom. She is a teacher of teachers and is preparing for her future role in administration.
