Traffic & Parking Lot Reminders
It is a challenge when we have a couple of roads in and over 2,100 students coming and going every day. Please review the information about pick-up and drop-off procedures. We always ask that everyone be aware of students walking or on bikes and to take caution when driving near campus.
When entering the front loop,  do not pick-up or drop-off students in the red zone . This is not a loading and unloading zone. Stopping here is a major cause of the backups that occur in the loop and on Foothill Road. Loading or unloading in this area may subject you to a $100 fine.

Pull all the way forward  before you stop to pick-up/drop-off students in either the LEFT (curbside) lane or the RIGHT lane.  These areas are highlighted with  green lines  in the above picture. The MIDDLE lane is for exiting the lot only.   If you stop in the right lane, you may block parking stalls so if someone needs to enter or exit a parking stall and you are in the way, please allow room for them to proceed by safely repositioning your vehicle if possible.

Again, do not drop off or pick up students in the middle lane. Only enter this lane after you have dropped off or picked up your student(s).
Schedule Change Policy
August 5-16: Requests will be considered only for the following reasons, subject to availability. Teacher requests will not be considered.
  • Class needed for graduation
  • Class needed to fill a hole in your schedule
  • Class needed to meet minimum “a-g” requirements
  • Adding/dropping AP class or level change (i.e., Geo to Math II)
  • Adding AVID or Academic Support
  • Adding/dropping ROP classes with fieldwork or travel
All schedule change requests must be made in writing with a parent signature on the appropriate form (available in the Counseling Office). No emails please.
Please note that from August 19-September 27, schedule change requests must be approved by the administrator overseeing that department.

Students may submit elective change forms starting Monday, August 19. If they previously submitted one, they will need to resubmit Monday if they still want it.

NEW THIS YEAR: After September 27, no schedule changes will be considered.

A Heads-Up for Seniors from the Counseling Department!
Counselors will be meeting with all seniors to discuss post-high school plans, and will be reviewing the college application process beginning the second week of September.

Every senior who plans to apply directly to a four-year college will receive a packet of information detailing everything you need to know about the college application process. In order to best prepare for these meetings, start making a list of colleges you want to apply to and feel free to come with questions for your counselors. Parents, please review these packets with your students. This is a very exciting time for our seniors!

If you are planning to go to community college or a trade school or maybe have a unique plan for you, please let your counselor know. We will check in with you briefly now, and more detailed information regarding community college applications will come to your student in October.
