We have emailed out our proposed 2018 budget.  So that we can finalize the budget, we ask that all pledges be submitted by this Sunday, November 26.

Thanksgiving Eucharist Thursday at 10am

Join us this Thursday, 10:00am, at Ellsworth Chapel/Central College for a Thanksgiving eucharist. The service will last no more than 30 minutes, giving you the time you need for roasting that turkey bird.

Gather with us in fellowship at St. Augustine's as we give thanks to the good Lord, who showers us abundantly with His grace and love.

Taize Service on December 12th at 7:00pm

Taize Worship and the Season of Advent
It is a time to rest in God, to let the words listened to and sung penetrate one's being.

- Brother John, Taize monk
Advent Season- according to the church is a time for waiting and hoping and prayerful expectation. Yet, for most of us, our culture pulls us into a frenzy of shopping, decorating, planning and schedules out of control.
Enter the chapel. The lights are dim, there is quiet and stillness. The space is softly lit with candles.
Taize worship pulls us back into the spirit of Advent. It is meditative worship consisting of a simple service of repetitive musical chants, short scripture readings and silence. Silence allows us to be in the moment "letting Christ, through the Holy Spirit, pray in us."
Taize prayer was created by brothers in a monastic community in Taize, France during the Second World War. The idea was ecumenical in nature with a goal of reconciliation of Christians and divided peoples.  The community is currently comprised of brothers from all denominations and from all parts of the world who continue to pray three times a day, seven days a week.
Please plan to experience Taize Worship on December 12 at 7:00 p.m. in the Ellsworth Chapel at Central College... more

Feeding Those in Need at Faith Mission

On Saturday, November 18, 2017, laden with Mexican lasagna, chips, the best salad in the land, and homemade desserts, St. Augustine's came calling to Faith Mission in downtown Columbus  Miss Ann was the band director of this food symphony; husband, Curt, was first fiddle;
and John and Dondra did what we were told! (smiles)

Never have there been so many thank-you's from the men, women, and children who savored this meal.  One gentleman came back for FOUR more servings of lasagna. Another made his way back to the serving line simply to express his appreciation.

So...if you want to do something good for God, then participate in this ministry next quarter.  We need bakers, prep-pers, and servers.  Stay "tuned" for the date in 2018!

And the Winner is...

Yes, Miss Lauren took the Chili Cook-Off prize for 2017 with her Mexican Taco Chili. No longer is Miss Jeanie the queen - but then, she didn't enter a recipe this year, either. The birth of the newest grandbaby hampered her culinary time.

The second place winner was a tie: Fr. Philip with his Kenyan Chicken Chili, and Miss Dondra, with her Crown Me With Many Crowns Chili.

Thanks to all eight who entered the contest. We'll wait anxiously for next year to see who will wear the crown.

American Heritage Girls and St. Augustine's Make a Difference for God

From Wendy: On behalf of Westerville's American Heritage Troop OH2168, I want to extend our appreciation and thank you to everyone at St. Augustine's who contributed toward our Operation Christmas Child shoebox packing this year.  Our troop of twenty young girls (most are 12 and under!) were able to pack over 100 boxes (106!) in two hours Saturday afternoon *and* get it loaded into my little car.  As God has blessed our lives, we hope that our box deliveries will be blessings to those who receive them throughout the world.  The girls were delighted to be able to pack boxes for every age group for both boys and girls, have a dedicated station to pray over boxes..more
