Kevin Morgan of Chapman Stained Glass Speaking About the Restoration of the Library's Tiffany & Belcher Windows
The Friends of the Moffat Library's first Annual Meeting and Presentation in the newly-restored building took place on Oct 18, 2017. Guest speaker Kevin Morgan gave a detailed account of the restoration, by his firm Chapman Stained Glass, of the library's famed Tiffany and Belcher windows. The presentation included a slideshow on the new library program room's multi-media system.
The windows are now fully restored and are reinstalled in the Moffat Library's newly dedicated Tony Knipp Local History Room, where they had lived prior to the Hurricane Irene storm, which hit the area and made the library uninhabitable in August, 2011. Two of the smaller Tiffany windows, which had been hanging in the children's area, now grace the small conference room.
It is well worth the visit to the library to see the windows, though you can also find a video that examines their colorful beauty by
following this link to the Moffat Library YouTube channel. If you care to watch beyond that, it is followed by another that recounts the history of the Chapman Stained Glass Studios. Both videos were created and produced by videographer Ruth Pohl, in honor of windows' restoration.
