November Demo Night
Mary Lou Moad
Monday, November 20
Oklahoma Contemporary

Join us for refreshments, socializing, and a demo by artist Mary Lou Moad. There will also be time at the end to share, so bring something you've been working on or information about your upcoming event.

Bio

Mary Lou Moad fell in love with painting in the third grade when a vacation bible school teacher set up an elaborate painting project, and Mary Lou found out what a little paint can do for the soul. After high school, art centered more around elaborate birthday cakes and Halloween costumes as she raised her family, and she returned to painting as her children started leaving home.

Facilitating an Artist's Way study group, she found her true calling, and she began seeking her master's degree in Human Relations from OU, taking the additional training to become a registered Art Therapist. She continued to paint, along with her husband, John Moad, as well as teaching beginning art to children and adults. For many years Mary Lou has worked with children and families in foster care, and before that her groups were focused on cancer patients and children whose parents have cancer. Mary Lou's work can be seen in the gallery at Denton's Frame Shop and Studio3108 on Classen Blvd. in Oklahoma City.
