We would also like to thank Sacramento Kings, Sacramento River Cats, Bad Bakers of Sacramento, and Nothing Bunt Cakes of Sacramento for their generous donations. It is with their support that we were able to host this contest for our students.

Congratulations to our three top winners and thanks again to everyone who entered the contest.

15 mph speed limit enforced in several Natomas school zones
The City of Sacramento has launched it's "15 is Fast Enough" public outreach campaign aimed at educating parents, students, and residents about the new law that reduces the speed limit to 15 mph near 115 local schools including several in Natomas. Let's reduce our speed to ensure our students are safe!

New Career Pathways for students
NUSD has 10 career pathways for students to acquire 21st-century skills for the jobs of today and the future. Watch the video to the left to learn more about our two newest pathways - Building and Construction Trades and Public Safety.

Infinite Campus Portal
The Infinite Campus Portal is a tool for students and their families to view assignments, attendance, grades, and other important information, as well as to update contact, mailing, and guardian information. Returning parents will continue to use the same username and password as last year. New parents will receive an email at the beginning of each week with an activation link that allows them to create their own account by using an activation key.

Parents who have an existing account can change their own password to the parent portal by clicking on the "forgot password?" link on the sign in page. If you need assistance logging into the Infinite Campus Parent Portal, contact your school or our help desk at: [email protected] or (916) 567-5819.

Both the web and app versions of Campus Parent and Campus Student can be translated into Spanish, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese.
CAASPP Student Score Reports
At the end of last school year, students in grades three through eight and eleven participated in the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP).  While test scores certainly are not the most important way we should measure student success, it's utilized by the state to measure how our students are achieving and progressing toward college and career readiness.

Depending on their grade level, your child may have taken one or more of the following tests:
  • Smarter Balanced Summative Assessments for English language arts/literacy (ELA) and mathematics in grades three through eight and grade eleven
  • California Science Test (CAST) in grades five, eight, and twelve
  • California Alternate Assessment (CAA), in grades three through eight and eleven, as designated in a student's Individualized Education Program
If your child tested in our district, their score report will be arriving in the mail in the next few days.  This report shows scores for ELA and mathematics.  It is also available electronically in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. If they tested in another California district, their score report is available electronically in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. It includes an overall score for each subject and information about how well your child did in different areas. For students in grades four through eight who took the test in previous years, you will also see past scores in the electronic reporting system.  The State has not released science test results yet, so if your child took the California Science Test (CAST), those results will be provided to you in the winter.
For instructions on how to view your child's score report electronically, click here. If you need assistance logging into the Infinite Campus Parent Portal, contact your school or our help desk at: [email protected] or (916) 567-5819.
