Board approves entering into purchase agreement for future bus garage facility
At its August 19 meeting, the School Board approved entering into a purchase agreement to purchase an existing commercial/industrial building which will be converted into a new bus garage. The building is located at 4201 Norex Drive in Chaska. The purchase of the property is contingent on passage of the November 5 bond referenda, which includes funding to build a larger bus garage. Campus Portal improvements include free  mobile app
The next time you log into your Campus Portal account, you'll notice some changes. Infinite Campus is rolling over to their new parent and student portal platforms. Each will function very similarly to the old Campus Portal, but they will be easier to navigate. The update will appear on the computer web browser as well as on the new mobile app. Parents/guardians can download a free app to view Campus Portal on mobile devices and tablets. Once you log into the new site, click on any of the Menu links on the left side of your screen. Your child(ren) will be shown in the top right corner. This
40 second video  shows you what the new Campus Portal looks like to parents. Parents of secondary students will receive more information specific to the transition to Infinite Campus as a grade book in the coming weeks.

2019 Referendum addresses district's enrollment growth and funding needs
Three questions will appear on the Nov. 5 ballot:
Q1:   Operating levy
to help bridge district's budget gap, prevent cuts to programs and services, maintain class sizes, and to manage growing enrollment.
Q2:  Bond for buildings
to build a new elementary school on district-owned land in Chaska, address deferred maintenance needs across the district, and to build a larger bus garage facility on a new site. Question 2 can pass only if Question 1 is approved.
Q3:  Renewal of existing security and technology levy   which supports school security systems, technology for students and staff, and related professional development and support. Renewing this capital projects levy will not increase taxes.
