Bradley President Gary Roberts to Retire in May

Bradley's 11th president,  Gary R. Roberts '70 , who has served the university since January 2016, announced in a letter to trustees and senior leadership that he will retire when his contract ends in May 2020.

Accomplishments during Roberts' tenure include construction for Phase I of the Business and Engineering Convergence Center, with Phase II slated for completion by the time of his retirement. He also oversaw a new strategic plan, launched a faculty salary initiative, and expanded the university's online courses.

"I love Bradley and all of the people I have worked with here," Roberts said. "Despite the challenges that Bradley faces as higher education is disrupted and transitions its business model, I am optimistic about Bradley's future and I still hope to be a part of it."

A search committee of trustees, faculty, staff and students is working with a search firm to develop the hiring process and identify potential long-term candidates with strategic vision and a record of results and accessibility.
