NDSU Transportation and Logistics PhD Student to Present at DSI Conference

NDSU transportation and logistics Ph.D. student Sajad Ebrahimi has been selected to present his research on logistics outsourcing risk at the 2019 DSI Annual Conference in New Orleans in November.

A brief introduction to his presentation "Assessment of the Logistics Outsourcing Risks" reads, logistics outsourcing is an effective way to gain competitive advantage, improve customer service, and reduce logistics costs. However, regarding enhancement of the logistics outsourcing, organizations are faced with numerous risks.  In the food industry, this issue is more intense due to the nature of its products and services.    Identification, assessment, and analysis of the logistics outsourcing risks help managers in reducing their company's costs. This study aims to propose a model to identify, analyze, and prioritize risks of logistics service outsourcing under uncertainty.

Decisions Sciences Institute was formed in 1968 when a small group of faculty members representing a national cross-section of schools met in Atlanta to lay the groundwork for an organization that would encourage interdisciplinary communication in the emerging field of decision sciences. The annual meeting now draws over 1,500 participants who are interested in active dialogue in the now well-established discipline. The Institute's flagship journal, Decision Sciences, first published in 1970, is now a highly recognized publication among practitioners and academicians.
