Brian's Advocacy Reaches New Heights

Brian Rose has become a passionate advocate for people living with complex mental illnesses like schizophrenia.

He engages with fellow patients, shares his story with staff, volunteers and community partners. Now, Brian is in communities talking about his life living with mental illness before he received the help he needed and the tragedy that eventually lead him to the forensic mental health system and, ultimately, a second chance at life.

Brian began his work as a patient advocate at Ontario Shores. He's now making an impact across Canada after having been named one of five 2017 Faces of Mental Illness by the Canadian Alliance on Mental Illness and Mental Health (CAMIMH).
