Our Creation Story lessons continue. The K-2 classes are in the Science station experimenting with wind and air and our Grades 3-5 are in the Cooking station making Creation pizzas!
Sunday, September 15:
Both the K-2 and 3-5 will review our Creation lessons and be in the Video Station watching The Lorax. We will discuss
all the gifts God has given us and that He wants us to take care of all He has created.
God asks us to care for not only plants and animals but also for each other.
We are looking for volunteers
to help us lead the BLAST lessons. Prayerfully consider helping us in this ministry. Lesson plans and supplies are provided. You don't have to commit to every Sunday and there is no experience necessary! Contact Ayn Colsh at

Christmas Cards
Needed
Prison Ministry
Help collect Christmas cards for a group in South Carolina who send a card to every inmate in the state during the Christmas season. There will be a container in the foyer for the collection. If you have any spare cards that you would like to donate, please let us put them to use. We need 800+ cards to insure that all of the ladies at Leath Correctional in Greenwood, SC receives one. This is the facility my Kairos team visits each month. Cards do not need to be boxed. Most of us have left over cards from previous years that we will be able to use.
Please include an envelope for each card.
Cards should be unused, without glitter or add-ons.
We will meet at a later date to sign and address these cards. Let's shower these ladies with Christmas wishes!
Deadline for turning in Christmas cards is Sept. 27th.

Sharing God's Word: Our Guest Preachers
This Christmas Eve marks the 20th Birthday
of the launching of Holy Comforter. We are starting the celebrations early with a host of guest preachers, from within and without of our congregation, that begins in 2019 and continues through 2020.
Sunday September 22 The Rev. Dr. Reggie McNeal.
Reggie is a Baptist preacher, teacher, writer and iconoclast, who pushes us not to settle for what passes as everyday Christianity. He is also funny as all get out. Reggie has preached before at Holy Comforter and was instrumental in starting some of our outreach ministries. For more info on Reggie go to

The Rev. Dr. Nadim Nassar.
Syrian born Nadim is a priest in the Church of England. More importantly he is the founder of The Awareness Project. His book, The Culture of God, gives voice to our questioning: "Where is...God in a world that seems bent on self-destruction?' As a peace-builder in Syria, the UK, the US and beyond, Fr. Nadim leads us into a transformative, reconciling, life-changing power that leads to abundant life and 'to protect the sanctity of life, which is defiled by war.'" The Rev. Nassar is traveling in our country this fall promoting peace and reconciliation, particularly in Iraq and Syria. Go to

The Standing Committee of the Episcopal Diocese of Georgia is pleased to announce a slate of candidates who will stand for election as the 11th Bishop of Georgia at the 198th Convention of the Episcopal Diocese of Georgia on November 14-16, 2019.
The Bishop Search Committee, after careful and prayerful discernment, recommended these candidates to the Standing Committee, who have formally approved the slate.

Stewardship Kick-Off Dinner
Wednesday, October 9:
Our Stewardship Ministry is hosting a Kick-off Dinner at the church from 6pm to 8pm. Dinner with all the fixings will be provided. Join us as we break bread to celebrate the many ministries and wonderful community feeling of our church in preparation for this year's annual stewardship drive.
