NOMINATIONS SOUGHT FOR
NCEA DISTINGUISHED GRADUATE AWARD
There is no greater marketing tool for a school to use in recruiting young families, or one that is more effective, than showcasing the success of its alumni. You can have professionally produced brochures, an amazing website, and place ads in local newspapers and magazines, but none of it can compare to the impact that accomplished graduates can have on a school's enrollment.
As Stephen Covey proffered in his book The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People "begin with the end in mind."
Our school offers a Profile of a Graduate at Graduation. It lists the characteristics and qualities our school tries to instill in every student and gives parents a glimpse of what their child will be like after spending nine years in our school environment (K-8).

Catholic Education Association (NCEA) and they also agree with the value of marketing alumni. In 1995 they began encouraging their member schools to annually present graduates with their
Distinguished Graduate Award.
As a school in its 164th year of operation, you would be correct to assume that we have an embarrassment of riches in terms of successful alumni to recognize and choose from.
The previous 22 awardees, dating back to 1995 when teacher Teresa Doolin '52 was the first to be recognized, also includes grads who have made their mark as a priest, religious, artist, community activist, deacon, doctor, pilot, author, businessman, lawyer, and financial planner. Previous recipients also include school parents who have served on one of our Leadership Boards and/or played a major role in school fundraisers.
We are now opening up nominations to determine who will receive this prestigious honor this year. To maximize the impact the recipient can have on our student body, the presentation will take place at our 8:00 a.m. all-school Mass during Catholic Schools Week on Friday, February 2.
If you would like to recommend a SSPP graduate who is worthy of this recognition, please
