ALLIANCE GAINS NEW VICE CHAIR
Ascension Providence Rochester Hospital Administrative Director, Angela Delpup joins the Alliance Board of Directors as the Vice Chair.
Ms. Delpup brings a passion for prevention work with her connection to the Rochester Auburn Hills Community Coalition and has been on the Alliance Board for the past three years as a member at large.

NEW PREVENTION CAMPAIGN LAUNCHES: #5DaysLater
Today we launch our new #5DaysLater campaign as we continue our efforts to reduce the stigma of addiction and raise awareness about the simple five days of misuse it takes to create opioid dependence. Many thanks to Alex Burgel who worked on our Prescription Drug Prevention Task Force to design this campaign. Join us on social media to stay informed!

NEW YOUTH PROGRAM COORDINATOR
Ready for the new school year, Kendra Ruddy joins us as a recent graduate of Central Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science in Community Health Education and a Minor in Psychology. Her extensive experience with youth adds great value to the programming that the Alliance implements.
Her new role is to work directly with youth, their parents, college and other community sectors to assist with the development and implementation of substance free activities fo the Alliance. To connect with her directly, email her at

OAKLAND COUNTY FAMILY & RECOVERY SUPPORT GROUPS
We have expanded our
Family & Recovery Support Groups
to include
all people affected by addiction
not just narcotics. In our efforts to shatter the stigma, we recognize that addiction is devastating to all members in a family as well as the communities that we live in.
- September 9th-7:00-8:30 p.m - Grief Group- Royal Oak Community/Senior Center, 3500 Marais Ave, Royal Oak, MI 48073 Led by Jan Ivinson, a mother who lost her son to the disease of addiction.
- September 12th-7:00-8:30 p.m - North East/ North Oakland-Support Group - Orion Center - 1335 Joslyn Rd, Lake Orion, MI 48360 National Recovery month - panel speakers from those in recovery.
- September 16th - 7:00-9:00 p.m - South East Support Group - 425 N. Main St., Clawson, MI 48017- Amy Buchanan - Ending the stigma, hope and recovery. Former Assistant Principal at Smith Middle School who was featured in the media recently that publicly revealed her addiction to prescription pain medication. Join us to hear her candid story about the chaos that comes with addiction and her inspiring change as she begins her recovery.
- September 23rd- 7:00-9:00 p.m - Central Region Support Group - McLaren Oakland, 64 N. Saginaw St, Pontiac 48342- - Raj Mehta - Shattering the myths and stigma surrounding addiction.
