Governor Cuomo has pushed back the date of the village elections across the state to September 15
th
. We are disappointed in this development but the safety of our constituents is always our first priority so we understand this decision!
We hope that by this summer we will have the opportunity to meet many of you at safe distances, in back yards and public spaces, and be able to answer questions and talk about the important issues of the campaign.
In the mean time we will continue to use these emails to inform you and to answer questions. There will be more state directives to come in terms of absentee ballots and social gatherings. We will keep you informed! Please email us at

What does the summer look like for East Hampton?
The village board is planning for the safe and effective opening of our village when the Covid-19 regulations are relaxed by Governor Cuomo. I listen carefully to his press conferences every day looking for encouraging signs the impact of this horrific virus is lessening. We participate in daily briefings with State, County, and local officials for detailed information and discussions of how we will coordinate the safe opening of our communities, businesses, and public and private institutions. We will be announcing these specific plans as they develop. As we monitor public places throughout the village I can say I am very proud of our residents for demonstrating social distancing and safety at our beaches, parks, and public places.
We will keep the residents informed through our Village Facebook page and our Village Website. Please make use of those forums to keep-up-to date with information as it happens. Village Hall remains open although not to walk-ins at this time. You may call with questions at 631-324-4150 and there will be representatives from each department available to answer your inquiries.
We hope and pray that we will have a warm, sunny, healthy summer ahead and be able to enjoy the beauty of this place we all love.
