SAINTS PETER & PAUL CATHOLIC SCHOOL

ARE YOU READY FOR SOME PRO FOOTBALL?

The 100th NFL season kicks off this Thursday, September 5, when the Bears take on the Packers at Soldier Field.

While fantasy football is a popular way to make the games more interesting, you can make the
next four months even more exciting by participating in our school's newest fundraiser.

This initiative, called
NFL Survivor Pool , is being spearheaded by Mike Leitner and Sean Farrell, both Saints Peter and Paul School parents and members of our Advancement Board.

What is the NFL Survivor Pool?

Each week a participant picks a NFL team that they think will win that week's game. If you pick correctly, you are still in the pool. If you don't, you are out.

The real test of your pro football knowledge is that in the remaining weeks, you cannot pick the same team to win again.

Therefore, as the season goes on, it becomes more difficult to pick winners.

To keep things interesting, there is a $50 entry fee.

We will give half of the money raised to the winner and the other half to SSPP for tuition assistance. Everyone is welcome to play, and we encourage you to invite friends and family to play as well.

Here are the steps to register:

1.      If you are interested in joining, please respond to co-chairs Mike Leitner and Sean Farrell at  [email protected]. They will confirm your entry and send the rules.

2.      Send your entry fee to Mike Leitner on PayPal at [email protected], Venmo @MichaelLeitner or Chase Pay at [email protected]

3.      Once the fee has been paid, we will send you a link and password to the league.

4.      Make your pick for the first week.

Don't wait to sign up.   When Eddy Pineiro kicks off at 7:15 pm, the window will already be closed.

SSPP TRIVIA

When our school was founded in 1853...

.....families looking to entertain could not serve nachos as it wasn't until 1943 when Ignacio Anaya, or "Nacho" as he was nicknamed, went into the kitchen and improvised a meal by taking some tostadas and topping them with shredded cheddar cheese, and serving them garnished with jalapeƱo peppers.
