Join us for an afternoon of monarch butterflies! Learn about the butterfly life cycle with hands-on activities you can use in the classroom. Weather permitting, we will tag and release live wild monarchs.

SCARCE recently hosted a wheelchair giveaway with our bread tag recycling partner organization, Danielle Cares for Chairs. What an amazing project and so simple to participate! Your school can help kids in need get mobility equipment simply by collecting plastic bread tags and bringing them to SCARCE for recycling. Download collection signs here.

The Campus Rainworks Challenge is a green infrastructure design competition for college students that seeks to engage the next generation of environmental professionals. First place in each category wins $5,000 for their team and faculty sponsor.
Looking for an activity to enhance your lessons on water or human environmental impact? Become an expert on the watershed model - a fun, hands-on teaching tool - and gain access to our collection of models for your use.

Schedule a water pollution workshop for your school or district and we'll bring the training to you. You'll be ready to make a splash in the classroom!

Submission Deadline Jan 5th, 2020
Students in grades 3 through college are invited to submit a video for the Young Filmmakers Contest. Winning films receive cash awards and will be premiere at the Gene Siskel Center during the One Earth Film Fest in March 2020.
Combine art and the environment! Anyone ages 10+ is invited to submit a design. The winning poster will be used to promote International Compost Awareness Week May 3-9, 2020 and receive a $500 prize.
