September 3rd, 2 019
Just a few days ago I finished a very special "book". It had thousands of pages and many, many chapters. It brought me great joy and laughter, as well as deep pain and tears, all mixed into an endless amount of Love.

The book symbolizes the last 20 years of my life as a mother. My main focus, almost every single day, was my two sons. Their needs and their well-being were the center of my life in so many different ways.

My life seems vastly different today as they both are now living in dorms at college. Their well-being is still a huge concern of mine, but, I am a whole lot less involved in their daily  lives. If  they sleep enough, brush their teeth, floss, eat any vegetables at all, or in the case of my oldest, does he eat often enough? It's remarkable to me that we are at this point. It's lovely in many ways, strange and unknown in some, and bittersweet at times. It is also all I could ever have wished for, for my boys.

Even though I didn't actually read this story, but  lived it,  I feel the way I sometimes do after reading a really good book. I am sure most of you know what I mean. When you put it down, after that last page, you don't just reach for the next one. You need to give it some time. Time for the story to sink in, to digest what was, and in some ways, let go of it, and then be in what is now.

I don't know how long this transition time will be, but it reminds me about the importance of transitions. That we must allow ourselves to have them. On the mat practicing postures, and in life. What's the hurry anyway? What are we rushing towards? I will start the next "book" when I am ready. For now, I will be with what is and allow myself space to feel it all.

Drop-in Classes

Gentle Yoga  - Thursdays 11:15am - 12:30

Gentle/Restorative Yoga -  Saturdays 10:45am - 12

These two classes are open to anyone interested, and it's the only two classes where you can simply drop in whenever it suits you. If you are already signed up in a different class, these classes are perfect as a second class in a week or a make-up when you missed a class. The Saturday class is also ideal if you are coming back from being sick or injured and you don't have your regular energy level or mobility back yet.

I will offer 4 Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday classes in September.

Peace,

Lena

The Lotus Flower

The Lotus is one of the most beautiful flowers in the world. It has its roots in the mud, at the bottom of streams and ponds, but rises to bloom above the water without becoming wet or tainted by the mire below. It symbolically represents being fully grounded in earth, yet aspiring towards the divine. For thousands of years the Lotus has symbolized spiritual growth and self realization.
