NNJC Outdoor Adventure News and Updates
The NNJC Camp Department would like to thank everyone for their patience as we continue to have conversations about the status of our summer camps. We ensure our Scouting families that we are doing our best to provide you with the most current information possible as we continue to receive guidance from the CDC, local health departments, and BSA National Office. Thus, the following newsletter includes our most recent decisions about our summer camps. More updates with specific program details will come in the next few weeks.

Camp Turrell and Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco

After much discussion, we have made the difficult decision to close our traditional sessions of Camps NoBe and Turrell. However, we are excited to announce a new hybrid camp program for 2020!

NoBe Everywhere: A Virtual Hybrid Experience

What is NoBe Everywhere?

The same spirit of NoBe in expanded locations! Here are some things that Scouts and Leaders can expect:
  • Opportunities to earn up to 5 merit badges each week
  • First-Year program with Scout Skills and specific merit badges
  • Trail to Eagle Program
  • First Class Adventure
  • Morning and evening colors
  • Virtual campfires
  • Daily theme events
  • Camp patch and theme pin
  • Achievement and Camp awards

When will camp be held?

We are offering 4 sessions (Monday-Friday):
  • June 29th-July 3rd
  • July 6th-10th
  • July 13th-17th
  • July 20th-24th

Additional details:

  • There will be a Pre-Camp Leader's Meeting to address any questions or concerns. Stay tuned for meeting date/time.
  • Pricing information to come soon.
  • Registration links and website will be live soon.
  • Scouts can register "provisionally"-the entire troop doesn't need to register for a Scout to participate. However, we do encourage Troops to stay connected and register together!
  • Senior camp staff will be present at camp running all virtual instructional programs. You can still see your favorite friendly camp staff you know and love!
NNJC High Adventure Trekking Floodwood Mountain Reservation

Floodwood Mountain Reservation will be open and we are ready for some high adventure in the Adirondacks!

Floodwood is truly a special place in the Adirondacks and offers your unit the opportunity to create memories that will last forever!
If a Scout cannot attend with their own Troop, they can camp on their own “provisionally.” Even if this is their first year or sixth, they will always find excitement at Camp! Some of our programs this year include:
  • Trekking 101
  • Flex Treks
  • Provisional Opportunities
  • ...and more!

Email floodwoodmtndirector@gmail.com for more information!

Here are a few words from FMR Camp Director Steve Leonardi!
Cub Scouts
Camp Lewis and Camp Yaw Paw

Cub Scout Camps Lewis and Yaw Paw will be shifting to a virtual platform this Summer. But even though we can't all be together this Summer, that doesn't mean we can't have fun from home! Our Camping Department is working hard to develop a fun, interactive program for our Cub Scouts.

More information on program and registration to come.
