Dear Friends,

County Executive Angela Alsobrooks announced yesterday that Prince George's County is preparing to move toward an incremental, modified Phase 1 opening. Please know, that this gradual opening is still more restrictive than the Phase 1 announced by Governor Hogan two weeks ago.

Read the updated Executive Order here which lists all of the new opening requirements.

Here are a few of the openings which will go into effect on Monday, June 1:

- Curbside pick-up is allowed for any retailer.
- Barbers and hair salons may open with specific, limiting guidelines.
House of worship may open with 10 or fewer people.
-C hildcare for essential employees will continue, with specific, limiting guidelines.
-Automatic car washes may open.

The County has updated the COVID-19 dashboard. Check it out here:  https://www.princegeorgescountymd.gov/3397/Coronavirus

It is critically important to continue to wear masks when you are outside your home and may encounter people you do not live with.

Rental assistance applications are now closed. Applications already submitted surpass the funding available. The following are other free resources:

The City of College Park, the College Park City-University Partnership and Terrapin Development Company are giving away gift cards to College Park restaurants. The giveaway is open to all, lean more and enter here

Reminders:

Donations to Greater Riverdale Cares allow CKAR to purchase meals from locally-owned restaurants which are distributed to those in need throughout District 3. Greater Riverdale Cares helps these locally-owned restaurants keep staff on payroll and feeds local residents in need. To date, we've purchased and distributed  3,000 meals from local, women and minority owned businesses and distributed the meals to those in need in our community. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this effort!

I have created an online form in English and Spanish to help connect District 3 residents with resources and assistance.

The top portion of the online form lists numerous resources. The bottom portion requests contact information and a brief description of needs. My team and I will use this form to help connect District 3 residents in need with with assistance. Please share the link https://bit.ly/D3Help with others. (Note this shortened link it is case-sensitive.) Not sure if you live in D3? Look at the map here. Of course you are always welcome to reach out directly by calling 301-952-3060 or sending an email to CouncilDistrict3@co.pg.md.us.

In coordination with Kaiser Permanente and Neighborhood Design Center, my office has put together a two-page resource document. Please download and share it widely.

The Maryland Primary Election  is Tuesday, June 2. Ballots must be dropped off or postmarked by June 2 to be counted.

All ballots MUST include the voter's signature and printed name on the back of the envelope. If you do not feel comfortable mailing your ballot, there are several ballot drop-off locations in Prince George's County, including the College Park Community Center. Drop off your ballot before June 2.

If you would like information about the limited in-person voting locations, or have questions please call the Board of Elections at 301-341-7300.

The Prince George's County Council will pass the County's Fiscal Year 2021 budget today. Please look for a longer budget update from me next week.
