We hope you'll enjoy the the new look of our monthly e-news. Why the change?  Changing the format helps those viewing on mobile devices have a better experience, while still allowing for viewing on a traditional computer. Thanks for your patience while we work it all out. We may go through a few minor "detail changes" before it's a'll said and done. We appreciate your feedback.

News from CRC

Dear Friends,

It has been an amazing five months at CRC. The time has just flown by! Summer camp was filled with inspiring speakers such as Paul Hawkins, Kim Meeder, and Darrell and Sherri Beebe. We were encouraged to seek God when we don't know what to do, take on new challenges/face our fears, and grow in maturity in our Christian walk. The Lord met real needs in our lives on so many levels. Guests left healed in their heart and encouraged for the future. We also had an excellent group of young people serving and teaching the youth here, encouraging them to be all God created them to be and to reach their generation for Christ. We are helping build leaders for tomorrow who will disciple others.

Labor Day Weekend was like the beginning of a new year for us as Pastor Dee Duke spoke on making goals. In very practical steps,  he taught on how reading your Bible is something we do every day, like brushing your teeth, and how setting goals builds character. Sanctification in Christ is a process that starts by being faithful in the small things.

With the coming of fall, we were thrilled to step out in faith with the starting of CRC's first year of Koinonia Bible School. Walking by faith with the Lord sometimes feels like you are taking a risk, but it's a calculated risk since we know the One who calls us out on the waters...JESUS, and He is faithful! We have two female students.  Amanda, from Texas, and Sammy, from Corvallis. Each of them are diving in with their whole heart. Already, we have read through the Bible up to Deuteronomy. We are teaching a Bible Overview of every book of the Bible along with Bible Theology, Genesis, I & II Samuel, Psalms, Matthew, Romans, and the book of Acts. Pastor Dee Duke also volunteered to come out once a week to speak to our students and staff on Leadership and we are eating it up. In January our students will be going to the Philippines to serve in sharing the Gospel. Please pray for us! If you would like to give toward this trip write Koinonia Missions Trip in the memo. Several people have already given for sponsoring students which has been a great joy!

Students, Amanda and Samara with teacher, Abigail Swayze (center).

With Koinonia's inception in September, came  our beloved Abigail Swayze. She will live at  CRC as a teacher of the Book of Acts and mentor for our Bible School students.  It has truly been a year of thankfulness, to look back at all of the wonderful people that have come to CRC and given of themselves  to help in the work of the Lord.   This past summer we also had the assistance of VMM (Volunteer Mobile Missionaries). Hard working retired volunteers, with hearts of gold, who give of their time four days a week , 6 hours a day, fully equipped with their own housing to do some remodeling. Thanks to them, we now have two sets of washers and dryers in the Main Lodge downstairs, a brand new upper story deck for Peter and Lori, and new sandblasted directional signs. We could not write enough books to tell of all the ways God has blessed us through the many people who come on these grounds.

Our wonderful Volunteer Mobile Missionaries
On that note, we've undertaken something we've never done before. For 6 weeks this fall we have hosted a YWAM Leadership Development Course. People from all over the world are here, ranging from Australia  and Brazil to Spain and Armenia... And what a pleasure it has been to have them here!!! They have added joy and spice to our life. They are the cream of the crop!

If you want to be encouraged with your walk with God and/or pass on your legacy of faith in Him to your children and grandchildren, CRC is the perfect place to come. Hope is found in knowing and obeying JESUS. Come and draw near to Him and He will draw near to you.

You are loved by Your Father in Heaven!

Thanksgiving Retreat
November 23 - 26, 2017
Pastor Scott LaPierre

Combine your family with the CRC family and truly celebrate the Lord with hearts of joy and thankfulness. Join us for a delicious traditional Thanksgiving dinner, ministry, worship and more... a real 'Family Thanksgiving'! This is a very special weekend focused on giving thanks to God for all that he has done for us over the past year.
The CRC Staff will share skits, stories and songs of thanksgiving on Thursday afternoon in the Rotunda. After a supper of turkey sandwiches, you and your family will have the opportunity to present a song, skit or testimony - some creative offering of thanks to God for his goodness. We would like each family group to prepare something ahead of time to share with the group. It's a LOT of fun and very inspirational as well! We always enjoy this evening when our guests take "center stage."   Each evening begins with a time of worship for the entire family. In the afternoons you will have the opportunity to enjoy making a Christmas wreath or just relax and fellowship.

"I pray that the Lord might crown this year with His goodness and in the coming one give you a hallowed dare-devil spirit in lifting the biting sword of Truth, consuming you with a passion that is called by the cultured citizen of Christendom 'fanaticism', but known to God as that saintly madness that led His Son through bloody sweat and hot tears to agony on a rude Cross - and Glory!" - Jim Elliot

Personal Retreats
Come away and seek the Lord!

Did you know that CRC offers Personal Retreats?  Personal Retreats are available for individuals, couples, and immediate families looking for an environment that fosters personal communion with Jesus.  Pray and read the scriptures in our chapels, walk our grounds, enjoy solitude and quiet. You can join us for any or all of the meals we are serving, or fast and pray. These retreats are offered year-round, except during CRC Sponsored Retreats and as space in available.

If you are looking for quiet, you will find plenty of that during the weekdays, especially in the fall, winter, and spring. If you enjoy lots of company and sharing meals in our Main Lodge, check to see if there is space available on a weekend.

While you're at CRC, make sure to visit The Lamppost. It's such a joy to see guests share and laugh over a latte, pray together, or just peruse the bookstore. We look forward to seeing you here during your next stay.
