November 2017
Message from the CEO
Dawn P. Argula CEO and President
Greetings!

The Thanksgiving holiday is right around the corner, a time to hit the "pause" button and reflect upon all for which we are thankful.  At LVCC, the universe of thankfulness is great - members that daily confront the challenges and opportunities of a dynamic economy in the quest for success; the shared experiences of our board members to provide invaluable guidance; event and corporate partners that play a key role in meeting this organization's mission; an amazing staff that power the delivery of excellent service and programming; and the Livermore Valley community which remains a great place to live, work, visit and do business.  May your holiday be filled with       peace, love and comaraderie.

Sincerely,
Dawn P. Argula

Shawn Wilson addresses the class at the Zone 7 Water Agency office
aspects of the Livermore community.
This year's class has 32 participants eager to hone their leadership skills and learn more about the community they live and/or work in. The October class was Local Government Day. Representatives from Alameda County Zone 7 Water Agency, Livermore Area Recreation & Park District, and the City of Livermore gave presentations to the class. Students remarked it was wonderful to hear not only what each agency did, but how everyone is linked and works together. The class ended the day by completing the exercise "Penny for your Thoughts", where they get to determine priorities for the city budget and deal with the realities of limited funds.
November's theme is Big Business. The class will visit 3 of the largest businesses located in Livermore.
