Important COVID-19 Community Updates
We appreciate the chance to bring you up to speed on what we are learning from local and regional sources every weekday or as necessary.
Please dial 9-1-1 in case of emergencies only and call 847.234.2601 for non-emergencies.

Check the City's website for additional information and continue to send any inquiries to cityhall@cityoflakeforest.com . During this time, residents should stay at home unless it is absolutely necessary to leave the house, continue to practice physical distancing and wash their hands as often as possible.

Many staff members are working remotely and will respond to you at the earliest opportunity.
A New Message from the Mayor
#wearehereforyouLF

Last week, City crews collected over 28 tons of materials intended for the Recycling Center and over 3,400 bags of yard waste in addition to regular sanitation pickups. We are happy to accommodate residents’ requests to help keep family “operations” moving while we stay at home.
Spring Ward Meetings Reminder
All four Ward Meetings have been cancelled and will be rescheduled as soon as possible. The City will inform residents via the Dialogue, E-Newsletter, website and social media when those dates are confirmed.
Shining Stars and Classic Cars
You may have seen some recent antique automobile activity going on in the Central Business District - another example of community members coming together to help each other in time of crisis. Members of "Fuelfed", a classic and vintage automobile club, recently held a "drive" for a local food pantry. If you did happen to witness these beautiful cars, you will be happy to know that Fuelfed is still planning to host a vintage car show in Market Square this August.
Reminder: Effective in LF on Friday, May 1
Governor J.B. Pritzker announced that, throughout Illinois, he will extend the Stay at Home Order until Saturday, May 30 with some modifications that will take effect on May 1.

  • The Order includes a requirement for anyone over the age of 2 to wear a face covering when in a public indoor space where a 6-foot distance from others can't be practiced. For more information on proper face coverings or how to make your own, please visit the CDC website page.
  • Golf courses may re-open, and Deerpath Golf Course is ready! Please check the website to book a tee time and for up-to-date information.
  • Retail stores will be allowed to open to limited phone service, manage internet orders and offer curbside pickup or delivery.
  • Added to "essential businesses": greenhouses, garden centers, nurseries and pet grooming services.
  • All stores should try to space customers to the greatest extent possible - i.e. markings on the floors, limit customers, one-way lanes, etc.
