Letter from the President
|
|
As I enter my ninth month as Chairman of the Alamo Area Hospitality Association (AAHA), I begin to think of the numerous ways that as an organization AAHA “
Gave Back
”! Do you know that last year AAHA was able to start a $25,000 endowment for hospitality students at St. Philips College? As long as students meet specifications required by our organization each semester, the endowment will forever support students and opportunities for an AAHA scholarship. This was one big occasion to give to St. Philips, but we give to many others each year too.
There are many pieces that are part of our ability to “
Give Back
” to our community and the various organizations, services and scholarships that support our city and citizens. As an organization, we proudly give back each November. This would not be possible without the funds raised throughout the year by the generous gifts from you and others for the fishbowl—plus by sponsorship and participation in our larger fundraising events like Viva Family Fun Fest and the Rock N Bowl. We cannot do what we do without you!
|
|
|
We have our own private room with 8 lanes and our own bar. After the first wave of bowlers, we will take over the Oak Hill Lanes Sports Bar that has bar games like darts, shuffle board and pool available. Plus, we will open (4) four more lanes for fun and free bowling for those who join us. It is going to be a fun packed afternoon and AAHA needs your support! Your own bowling ball and shoes are not necessary…although I believe there may be a few who may be packing.
In closing, I ask for your support to give you time by participating, sponsorship or donating a prize for the monthly fishbowl and for the fishbowl at the Rock N Bowl. I welcome it all if possible! This is where we can show how our industry can raise funds to give back to our greater community. I challenge you to put together a team for our Fall Rock n Bowl Fundraiser. I’ll be out trying to defend my win from last year. Who will take home the legacy trophy and rip it from my hands? Find out later this month where we will have fun for all who attend September 29
th
between 2 and 7pm. For more information, visit us on Facebook to keep up with the
AAHA Social Calendar
and please make sure you register as early as possible to help us confirm accurate numbers for our host venue!
Happy September,
Chris
