HAPPENINGS
SEPTEMBER IS
LIBRARY CARD SIGN-UP MONTH!
Since 1987,  Library Card Sign-up Month has been held each September to mark the beginning of the school year. During the month,  libraries unite in a national effort to ensure every child signs-up for their own library card.

Throughout the school year, public librarians & library staff will assist parents and caregivers with saving hundreds of dollars on educational resources and services for students.  How much money can you save?  Visit our  Library Value Calculator to total your savings.

A library card is one of the most cost effective back-to-school supplies available!

As an added incentive, stop by anytime this Fall and sign up for a Moffat Library card & receive a free gift!

Moffat Library celebrates the 10th Anniversary of
Alex's Lemonade Stand
Fundraiser for Childhood Cancer Research

Organized by former staffer & now board member, Abby Peterson, with the assistance of local teen volunteers, Moffat Library celebrated the 10th anniversary of Alex's Lemonade Stand, an annual fundraiser for childhood cancer research, on Saturday, August 18, 2019.

The stand was visited by Alex's mom, Liz Scott, as well as by NYS Assemblyman Colin Schmidt and many, many local residents.  Emily Kinney, Head of Youth Services, was on hand to do a craft with the kids.

Over $1,500 was raised towards the cause.
A new record!

Thanks to all the volunteers who donated their time and energy towards this endeavor!

And a big thank you to all the people who donated towards this worthwhile cause!
