Get Dirty for Good with Willamette Riverkeeper this fall!
WHAT: Trashy Tuesday- Eugene/Springfield
WHEN: Tuesday, 11/13 from 8:00am to 1:00pm
DETAILS: Join the Eugene-Springfield River Guardians volunteer crew to float the river while removing trash and debris from the urban waterfront as we prepare for high water events in winter. We’ll focus on the section between D Street in Springfield and Alton Baker Park in Eugene this month. Limited seating in rafts or BYOB.
Please dress for the weather - bring weather-appropriate layers, including a hat and gloves for cooler temperatures - this is a rain or shine event! We will have extra dry bags available to carry your items safely. Wear closed-toe hard soled shoes and bring water to stay hydrated. PFDs provided for those without - PFDs are required for all participants.
All Bing Your Own Boat (BYOB) participants should be able to adequately paddle in class 2 water, as there are some tricky places to navigate. Trash bags, pickers, gloves, tarps and tools for trash removal will be supplied.
IF YOU ARE BYOB PLEASE ARRIVE AT THE D STREET BOAT RAMP IN SPRINGFIELD NO LATER THAN 8:00am to unload your boat/gear and shuttle to Alton Baker.
IF YOU HAVE RESERVED A SEAT IN A BOAT MEET AT ALTON BAKER AT 8:30am to organize a shuttle to the launch at D Street so your car is available at the take out.
