Ram Run Communication

As many of you are aware, our Ram Run 5K Run/Walk was cancelled this year. As Principal of GMHS, I want to apologize to our community for not communicating this message sooner, not providing information as to where we are with the event, and express a desire to bring it back. I have been impressed by the outpouring of communications I have received concerning the Ram Run, and I would like to provide an opportunity for those interested in helping to come together to create a new event.

I want to thank staff members Clint and Heather Boston for leading the Ram Run for ten years. Their dedication and work are greatly appreciated. After the event last year, they made the difficult decision to redefine their roles and help in the capacity of volunteers, rather than directors, but both planned to continue to be part of the team moving forward. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to assemble a team in time to make it happen this year.

We need a group of committed community and staff to help us continue with a Ram Run event, or something similar, that provides an opportunity to come together as a community, celebrate our students, and fundraise for our athletics, clubs and activities. We are open to all ideas and we strongly believe that we can create an event that our community is proud of, as they have been with the Ram Run.

If you are interested in helping us renew a community event please let us know by completing the short form here . Once we know the level of interest, we will schedule a brainstorming meeting to explore opportunities.

Thank you for your continued support of GMHS! We are stronger together and we look forward to partnering with you.

Sincerely,

Colleen Owens

  • Students arrive for their visits prepared with a resume and research questions.

Message from SRO Jones
Hello Green Mountain Rams!
SRO Jones here.
Welcome Back to School!

I hope you all had a great summer and I am looking forward to seeing everyone here on our campus.
I hope to continue my efforts the same as last year by promoting school safety on and off campus. Inside school our campus security team is keeping our doors secured, checking for propped open doors and locking others doors to keep us safer. Outside the school doors I may be observing or enforcing the traffic laws around school and within our school lot. Parents, if your new or returning student is driving or about to drive, please go over the necessity to slow down in the surrounding neighborhoods as well as on campus.
At GMHS we have a lot of activities before, during and after school so we all need to do our part by observing posted speed limits and driving defensively aware of our surroundings at all times. Checking our blind spots, mirrors, using our turn signals and minimizing in vehicle distractions can help avoid all types of mishaps!

Some of you all may have seen me standing at the exit of our student lot saying hello and of course, encouraging all students in the vehicle to BUCKLE UP!

By all of us working together to be safe out there we can start this year off accident free! More to come on these topics as the year continues. If anyone has any questions, please stop in and say hi.
 Lets go RAMS!
Library & Technology News

As students start back to school for the 2019-2020 school year, two grades will do so with a brand new instructional device — a touchscreen Chromebook or iPad. These devices are part of a four-year plan to create technology-enabled classrooms in fifth through twelfth grades that prepare students to thrive in a digitally connected world in alignment with the Jeffco Generations Strategic Plan.  The Vision :  Create an equitable and sustainable model for technology-enabled classrooms that prepare students to thrive in a connected, digital world in alignment with the  Jeffco Generations strategic plan .

Here's how Tech for Ed looks at Green Mountain High School: please visit our  1:1 Chromebook Initiative  website (under the Students tab on  www.GMHSRams.org ). Here you will find information on warranties, digital safes, devices, educational technology tools and more.
