Good Morning Covenant Families!

We hope you were able to enjoy the sunshine yesterday! This morning, Mrs. Cossin shares about service with Mark 10:45.

O The Deep, Deep Love of Jesus
Let's sing O The Deep, Deep Love of Jesus together with Mr. Maurer.
O the deep, deep love of Jesus!
Vast, unmeasured, boundless, free,
rolling as a mighty ocean
in its fullness over me.
Underneath me, all around me,
is the current of thy love;
leading onward, leading homeward,
to thy glorious rest above.

O the deep, deep love of Jesus!
Spread his praise from shore to shore;
how he loveth, ever loveth,
changeth never, nevermore;
how he watches o'er his loved ones,
died to call them all his own;
how for them he intercedeth,
watcheth o'er them from the throne.

O the deep, deep love of Jesus!
Love of ev'ry love the best:
'tis an ocean vast of blessing,
'tis a haven sweet of rest.
O the deep, deep love of Jesus!
'Tis a heav'n of heav'ns to me;
and it lifts me up to glory,
for it lifts me up to thee.

Non Nobis
Our Grammar School students normally sing our school song,  Non Nobis  during morning assembly each day. We invite you to sing along with Mr. Maurer this morning!

Non nobis, Domine
non nobis, sed nomini tuo da gloriam

Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name be the glory.
– Psalm 115:1

Join the Pushup / Bible Memory Challenge
Day 9:    And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding (Col 1:9)
Join Dr. Sonju for a 14 day Pushup and Bible memory challenge to end the school year. Here are the details:

  • Do 14 pushups each day in honor of the 14 days of school remaining when this challenge was launched.
  • Memorize 14 verses of the Bible (Colossians 1:1-14) by May 21st. You can use any version, but Dr. Sonju will be using the ESV.
  • On the last day of school, send a video of you completing your last set of pushups and then reciting all of Colossians 1:1-14 to Dr. Sonju.
  • A drawing will be held out of everyone who completes the challenge to select 3 GS and 3 US prize winners.

Memorization Tips:

  • Write out the verses by hand on a 4x6 card, or you can print this pdf. Keep the notecard with you everywhere you go, and take it out frequently to practice your verse(s).
  • Focus on memorizing one new verse each day, and then reviewing the verses you've already memorized at the end of each day.
  • The passage has a definite flow, so you may find yourself easily memorizing more than one verse at a time. That is fine, but make sure you do lots of review of the section you've already memorized.
  • Try your best to learn it word for word – no mistakes.
  • Review last thing before you go to sleep and first thing when you wake up.
