Hello everyone, and welcome to Tony's Tap TV. Episode 18.
BIG news!
Tap TV is going LIVE in July
during what would have been Tap City. Detailed information on programming will be coming out soon. Meanwhile save and hold
July 3-10, 2020
open. After that, and most likely, Tap TV will become a regular event airing every Tuesday at 11am. Even MORE about that later.
Let's get started this week with a tribute to the comedy team of
Cook and Brown
. Both
Charles "Cookie" Cook
and
Ernest "Brownie" Brown
were members of the Copasetics. Along with
Charles "Honi" Coles, Buster Brown,
Bubba Gaines
and others, they have become known as the founding fathers of the ATDF! Honi worked with
Brenda Bufalino
for over 20 years and then Brenda introduced us all to the Copasetics, their material AND their philosophies. So, well, we've been following in their foot steps ever since.I am so grateful and I really have so much to be thankful for as I got to know these guys! Cookie and Brownie both made us laugh. Boy did we laugh. And, that laughter, that humor, and this legacy, this cannon, this history, is what still inspires me today and I'm very happy to be able to share this information with all of you.
So, you'll see below, that we start with a little tribute to the amazing duo team of Cook & Brown.
Following this, is another Tap Cartoon compliments of
Patricia Duffy
(yes, that's Barbara's sister). Thanks for sending Pat!
Then I've added a small segment of the
Salute to the Copasetics
from Tap City 2011. What a show that was.
Once again, it seams that "everything is Copasetic" at least for the moment, all things considered. I think all we can do is just continue to breath, stay safe, stay healthy and stay creative.
By the way, we launch a new website soon also, so be on the look out for that. It is definitely NEW and IMPROVED.
So, meanwhile, and for the moment, stay tuned for lot's of new programs July 3-10, 2020. I'm really looking forward to sharing even more footage and content with everyone and anyone who is interested.
See you in the funny papers.
Tony
