Mas d'En Compte
"Black Slate" Porrera Priorat 2016
94/100 - Jeb Dunnuck (4/3/2019) "The 2016 Black Slate Porrera comes from a project of importer Eric Solomon focusing on the specific villages in the Priorat. The 2016 is 60% Grenache and 40% Carignan that was mostly destemmed and spent a full year in used barrels. Thrilling blue fruits, tar, rose petals, and a smoky, marine, iodine-like character all emerge from this full-bodied effort that opens up nicely with time in the glass. Tasting like it cost three times the price, it picks up more minerality with time in the glass, has beautiful balance, and great purity of fruit. It would be hard to find a better value. Drink bottles over the coming 3-5 years." (Spain)

Raymond
"Reserve Selection" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2017
97/100 - James Suckling (2/14/2020)
92/100 - Wine Advocate (10/31/2019) "The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley Reserve is made up of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Petit Verdot, 2% Petite Sirah and 1% Merlot. It was aged in 37% new French oak and bottled unfiltered. Deep garnet-purple colored, it opens with quite a serious, savory nose of roasted nuts, espresso and charcuterie with a core of cassis, warm blackberries and black forest cake plus a waft of pencil lead. Medium to full-bodied, the palate delivers mouth-filling, expressive black fruit flavors, framed by chewy tannins, finishing savory." (California)

RouteStock
"Route 116" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2017
#66, Wine Spectator "Top 100" Wines of 2019
91/100 - Wine Spectator (6/15/2019) "This offers creamy raspberry, currant and wild plum flavors, supported by medium-grained tannins. The spicy finish lingers with chocolate notes and hints of mint. Drink now through 2023." (California)

Cantina Sociale Cooperativa
Copertino Riserva 2010
This perfectly aged Vin Chicago favorite is back! Complex layers of leather, tobacco, macerated cherry, earth, root beer, cinnamon and dried herbs belie the low price. Always food friendly, it is just begging for charcuterie, barbecue or stew!
91/100 - Our Score (5/2019)
92/100 - Vinous, Ian D'Agata (2/2020) "Deep red-ruby. Generous, nicely focused aromas and flavors of red fruit, tar, licorice and underbrush. Showcases marvelous acid-fruit-tannin balance, finishing long, smooth and breezy. A knockout wine and an exceptional buy for the money." (Itay)

Chateau Pesquie
"Terrasses" Cotes du Ventoux Rouge 2017
94/100 - Jeb Dunnuck (4/3/2019) "Longtime readers will know that I love this cuvée, which is year in, year out, one of the great value buys out there. The 2017 Terrasses is even better than the 2016 and ranks with the finest vintages I've tasted, matching the stunning 2010. The essence of kirsch liqueur, wild strawberries, and wildflowers flow to a full-bodied, plump, deep, beautifully layered and sexy wine that has medium to full body, ripe tannins, notable minerality, and a great finish. A blend of 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah that was all destemmed and brought up in concrete tanks, this is a raw, naked expression of this fabulous terroir located just south of Mount Ventoux. There are over 6,000 cases brought into the U.S., so it should be relatively easy to find, and it has the capability to keep for 7-8 years. Maturity: 2019 - 2026." (France)

BenMarco
Valle de Uco Malbec 2017
92/100 - Wine Advocate (10/31/2019)
93/100 - James Suckling (2/19/2019) "The freshness and saltiness to this is fantastic. Medium-to full-bodied, firm and super silky with an extremely long and driven finish. Vertical and focused. Drink or hold." (Argentina)

Anko
Salta Torrontes 2018
The grapes for this dense, mouthfilling Torrontes are grown at an altitude of 5700 feet. That's a full 3000 feet above the summit of Mount Veeder!
91/100 - James Suckling (2/21/2019)
90/100 - Our Score (2/2020) A textbook Torrontes from some of the highest vineyards in the world! Salty melon and screaming floral flavors are rounded out with bright citrus notes and a stony, mineral-driven finish. Full of character. Our sample bottle was still showing well a full nine days after we opened it. (Argentina)

Matetic Vineyards
"EQ" Casablanca Valley Sauvignon Blanc 2019
93/100 - Wine Advocate (2/28/2020) "Matetic's Sauvignon Blanc has a great quality/price ratio, and even the top-of-the-range 2019 EQ Coastal Sauvignon Blanc sells for under $20. They want a Sauvignon for the table, one that combines freshness and volume. They fermented part of it in used barrels and concrete, and it matured with the lees for four months in barrique and concrete eggs. This is more restrained-not as aromatic, less herbal-but the palate is terribly juicy and mineral, focused and makes you salivate. It should work wonders with modern Peruvian gastronomy. Drink Date 2020 - 2024." (Chile)

Valravn
Sonoma County Chardonnay 2018
90+/100 - Our Score (12/2019) Valravn is an exciting new label from the gang that brought us the Banshee wines. This Chardonnay is sourced from two cool climate Sonoma vineyards. It went through full malolactic in barrel and was raised in 100% French oak, 25% of which was new. That said, this vanilla-laden Chardonnay is extremely fresh and lifted, showing bright citrus and orchard fruits with an underlying theme of chalky white rocks. And, what a price! If this is the new style of California Chardonnay, we are all in! (California)

Raats
"Original" Unwooded Stellenbosch Chenin Blanc 2019
90/100 - Our Score (5/2020)
90/100 - Vinous, Neal Martin (10/2019)
91/100 - Wine Advocate (3/31/2020) "On the nose of the 2019 Original Chenin Blanc, peach skin, pineapple and honeysuckle all pop out of the glass with precision, followed by wet stone and fresh lemon pith. There is no oak to speak of on the palate. The medium-bodied wine shows its freshness in the mouth along with additional flavors of banana peel and pear slices across the mid-palate. It's a beautiful wine that shows precision, mineral tension and fresh fruit flavors, ending with a lingering finish that delivers pleasure to the drinker. This wine is delicious and is also a great value. Bravo! Drink Date 2020 - 2029." (South Africa)

Damien Pinon
"Le Brut" Vouvray Brut NV
89+/100 - Our Score (11/2019) Supple and juicy, this sparkling Chenin Blanc from Damien Pinon is full of plush red apple, white peach and pear supplemented by notes of jasmine and honeycomb. Well-balanced between fruit and minerality with a slight tip toward fruitiness that makes for an easy-drinking and versatile sparkler. A smart case-buy for all-purpose drinking! (France)

Le Galantin
Bandol Rosé 2019
Our first 2019 Provence Rosé!
90+/100 - Our Score (5/2020) This brand new arrival from the premium Bandol region of Provence offers enticing flavors of salty watermelons and apricots overlaid with the minerality of sun-baked stones. Warm-hearted, plump and generous, this combination of 55% Mourvedre, 35% Grenache and 10% Cinsault offers the plumpness of high level Bandol Rosé for an amazing price. (France)

Price: 199  (includes one bottle each of the above twelve wines)
