Please contact your Senators and Representatives to oppose Israel's plan to annex 30% or more of the Palestinian West Bank
Annexation amounts to an act of aggression, forbidden by international law

Israel's new unity government, led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, is holding a vote in the Israeli Knesset on July 1 to annex 30% or more of Palestinian land in the Israeli-Occupied West Bank. Noura Erakat, Palestinian-American legal scholar and Rutgers University professor, wrote in a May 19 Washington Post opinion article that this annexation will create a series of 115 bantustans and will prevent the possibility of a Palestinian state.

Prime Minister Netanyahu has stated that none of the 65,000 Palestinians living on the annexed land will receive Israeli citizenship.

WILPF has always supported Palestinian self-determination and at its 2011 Triennial International Congress called for "the recognition of an independent sovereign state of Palestine based on the 4 June 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital." Israel annexed Palestinian East Jerusalem in 1980 and the Syrian Golan Heights in 1981. Neither the US nor any other nation took action against Israel for these illegal and destructive annexations. WE MUST SPEAK UP NOW!

Seventy-two Palestinian civil society organizations issued a statement calling for sanctions against Israel  to prevent its illegal plan to annex this broad swath of Palestinian land, including the Jordan Valley, which  the World Bank states contains the majority of the Palestinian natural resources.

Please email or call your US Senators and Representatives and ask them to immediately speak out in opposition to Israel's planned annexation. Below are the demands made by the Palestinian civil societies. When you contact your Senators and Representatives, please request that they support any or all of these sanctions:
  1. Ban arms trade and military-security cooperation with Israel
  2. Suspend free-trade agreements with Israel
  3. Prohibit all trade with illegal Israeli settlements and ensure that companies refrain from or terminate business with Israel's illegal settlement enterprise
  4. Ensure that individuals and corporate actors responsible for war crimes/crimes against humanity in the context of Israel's regime of illegal occupation and apartheid are brought to justice
