AACSB Peer Review Team Visit Update

The College of Business Administration hosted a peer review team visit from AACSB on Sept.17-20th.  A great deal of information was shared with them, and we would like to thank the groups who participated in meetings with them. We look forward to hearing back from them in the coming months and we expect to know more in November.


CBA Students Attend TSCPA Lunch Presentation            
CPE credit and learning enhance luncheon
 
Accounting and finance students in Dr. Anne-Marie Lelkes' class attended a CPE Luncheon on Friday, September 22 at the Solomon Ortiz Center that was hosted by the Corpus Christi Chapter of Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants.  

The title of the program was " The Nuts and Bolts of Foreign Asset Reporting" presented by Aaron Borden, CPA, JD, of Meadows Collier Reed Cousins Crouch & Ungerman LLP.  Students received information on what must be reported on each foreign assets form, when each form is required, and where to include the pertinent information on each of the forms. Students who attended were able to receive one hour of CPE credit.


David Cochran: MBA Student Highlight

New Jersey native David Cochran just received his Master's in Business Administration in August 2017. The 32-year-old currently resides in Philadelphia and is one of many students who has benefited from A&M-Kingsville's virtual programs.

Why did you decide to attend Texas A&M University-Kingsville?
After completing a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering and working in "Big Pharma" for several years, it became apparent that to advance within the organization, having a mastery of business administration was a critical skill set. To that end, I began researching Accredited Online MBA programs based on the best balance of ranking and prestige to tuition cost. Additionally, I needed a degree that was flexible enough in their plan to accommodate my full-time career which included a lot of traveling for work. Interactive Learning Lab Unveiled in the CBA         
BUSA room 100 renovation has been completed
 
Housed within the Business Administration Building, the Interactive Learning Lab, BUSA Room 100, was completed in August. The renovated classroom hosts up to 48 students and can be used individually or in combination to support a myriad of learning activities. The lab is equipped with one large display screen, six smaller work spaces with monitor, mobile furniture and large whiteboard.  
 
Faculty can stretch the boundaries of learning and encourage students' hands-on environment. The Interactive Learning Lab will allow faculty to use a variety of methods and innovative approaches to enrich the learning experience and will host regular class sessions, meetings, lectures, conferences and other special events.
