Hospital Transparency Rule Making Process

Dear hospital partners,

The purpose of this notification is to invite you to provide feedback in the rule making process for the implementation of HB19-1001.

HB19-1001 Hospital Transparency Measures to Analyze Efficiency requires the Department of Health Care Policy & Financing (the Department) to develop and publish a report on hospital uncompensated care costs titled the Hospital Expenditure Report.

Draft rules on the data collection process are available for review on the Hospital Transparency website. Hospitals are encouraged to review the rules and provide feedback to the Department. Please provide feedback on the rules by emailing the Department by September 23, 2019.

Also, be on the lookout for communication requesting financial statements and Medicare cost reports from the Department HCPF Transparency email address.
