Sometimes we wonder where our money comes from, and definitely where it all goes.  A school such as ours, a home, or even an individual ought to operate within certain guidelines of fiscal responsibility that ensure we are being good stewards of the resources God has given us.

Christ Covenant School operates under a fairly simple financial equation whereby the amount of money we receive in tuition aligns directly with the general operations of the school.  We try to keep our budget tight and allocate as much as we can to the priority items of personnel, curriculum and maintaining adequate facilities for our school.  The other budget items such as vans, athletics, and capital purchases come from other sources such as fees, fundraisers, and special events.

We just finished the first fundraiser of the year, which was Charleston Wrap.  The money raised with this event funds our athletic budget, and any amount that exceeds our normal needs will go towards the purchase of a van.  We are so grateful for the hard work of our parents and students in pushing this event forward for our most successful fundraising year ever.

The second major of the year is Grandparents Day on October 20 th .  We will be sharing about future vision for the school and have designated our FallFest proceeds to the Senior and Junior classes who are raising money for their senior trip. This event and the Spartan Cafe' are specifically designated to the students who are willing to staff the events to offset the cost of specific class events.  The model follows the pattern of the worker who is worthy of the wage.

Another prime fundraiser every year is Chicken Dinner on November 17 th .   This event builds community and charity as we try to raise anywhere from $8,000 to $12,000 specifically for financial aid for families in our school.  Our board has approved a financial aid policy whereby these funds are awarded according to need with a cap of 80% of the cost per family.  Our goal is to keep Christian education affordable for as many families as possible, and follow God's desire to care for those who have financial needs.

At Christ Covenant School, we try to not to burden our parents with excessive fees and fundraisers.  As our school continues to grow; however, facility expansion, field development, and capital purchases will require us to have voluntary capital campaigns that go beyond our normal operating needs.  The 300 Spartan Warriors is a good example of that type of fundraising, and we are very excited to report we have raised 100% of the need to pay cash for our fields on the new facility.  Thank each of you for giving so generously.

You have advanced our mission and allowed us to steward not only the finances, but more importantly the futures and destinies of young people in our community.

I know of no greater investment.
